  1. That’s the move many are clamoring for. And to think many here thought Austin Martin was done for
  2. You 60-day too many and at the end of the season, they all come off … if you know you will have room for them all then you do it. But if you 60-day everyone, you may lose someone you really want to keep if you don’t have the roster space for them at the end of the season
  3. They don’t put anyone in the 60-day until they have a need of the roster space. And then they have to be careful because when that person comes off the 60-day they have to find space again. So you don’t want to 60-day roster anyone until absolutely necessary.
  4. What? I thought the Twins won tonight?
  5. A broken clock is still right twice a day
  6. This is where I’m at with Buxton. Is just sad. So much talent, but a body that won’t withstand it.
  7. Or read any game recap out there or the weather report or read any context whatsoever, other than the box score. Hey, Number3, are you even reading this? Maybe you’ll get to it during the off season.
  8. Check the attitude, dude. It was suggested that Ober may be on an innings limit. Whether or not we agree with that, he wasn’t pulled just to be pulled, for no reason. We may not agree with that or like it, but the discussion in the game thread recap last night was convincing to some degree. call me a dude again, it’s you who may need to get your eyes checked.
  9. That’s not true. You just don’t like the reason and it doesn’t suit your constant narrative.
  10. This is Japan weather in August ... maybe he'll remember that and acclimate quickly to the workload in this heat
  11. It’s not that bad in Chicago. Tomorrow, otoh, and Thursday, don’t look so good
  12. The shocking part is that it took this long
  13. I’m just hoping for lots of Blizzards! 🙂
  14. I can’t see the team moving, but who knows. I mean, Nashville White Sox seems blasphemous somehow. I’m certainly going to ask my Sox friends what they think.
  15. Did you and @USAFChief go together?
  16. I posted this in the Other Baseball forum, but I think it fits here. I don’t think this is ‘Twins only’ discussion as what most are saying is pretty much everywhere in baseball, some good, some bad. And Richie’s post kind of summarized this article. Hopefully it’s not behind a paywall and you can read one article for free. While it emphasizes the pitch clock, it’s really about more than that. It’s why the need for it and what led us there. I think if this discussion had been framed in a question form .., ‘Have analytics hurt baseball? How? What’s the solution?’ … we’d get to the heart of it. I’d go so far as saying it’s not analytics, but it’s how some numbers have been applied … would that be a fair question? https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2023/07/baseball-mlb-rule-changes-2023-pitch-clock/674291/?utm_source=copy-link&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=share
  17. I think we have beaten this topic dead. And I think I know a good topic for next off-season’s debate … any takers? But for now, as agreement isn’t really in the cards from what I can read, and a lot of repeating the same sides and frustrations, let’s move on. Thanks,
  18. And if you stay overnight, stay in that haunted hotel the teams stay at https://www.tmj4.com/news/local-news/oakland-as-player-has-haunted-experience-at-milwaukees-pfister-hotel
  19. Who’s that?
  20. Yep. No one wants to do the actual math so the evidence is anecdotal.
  21. That was the title of the print version. The online version has a different title. And I'm not sure baseball saved itself entirely yet (get rid of blackouts!), but I am a huge fan of the pitch clock and what it has done for the game. Imo, it seems to meander a bit to other issues, but it circles back. Hopefully one gets one grace article before the paywall hits you. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2023/07/baseball-mlb-rule-changes-2023-pitch-clock/674291/?utm_source=copy-link&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=share
  22. Blizzard winner! Beginning at 7pm tonight, I'm on vacay from work for 4 weeks ... woohoo!!! Double blizzard winner for that! 😀
  23. They still have to have more wins at the end. Doesn't make them more or less deserving, imo. And as I said, I don't think anyone from the central is deserving, but the one with the highest number under the W column will go to the playoffs
