    I think those takes are pretty much BS either way. We don’t know, personally, what’s in the hearts and minds of anyone. It’s just an easy go to or explanation for some when we lose or when a player does poorly or when the manager does something inexplicable to us. I get that some think it’s what they perceive, but still, it’s not a quality anyone can know unless they are personally acquainted with each member individually.

    Still, if your only reliable relievers are down, that really points a finger at how poorly constructed the BP is .., I’m tripling down on the FO being to blame for this 🙂

    What does ‘down’ mean? Sick? Sore? Unavailable? What? If we were that short then I double down on the FO not rostering a better BP.

    Win some, lose some. Someone on this site proclaimed we were going to get swept by both the Rays and the Jays. Well, part of that is true. This won’t be a popular post but I don’t put the blame on Rocco. Sure he could have gone with someone else, but I also don’t think it was wrong to give Pagán the 7, 8, and 9 hitter to get out. He’s had more good outings than bad this year. But I do blame the FO for saying they weren’t focussing on the BP at all during the off season. The manager can’t pitch the same guy every game. The FO needs to give the manager better options.

    They also held their own, imo, against the Dodgers. But they do need to start winning more of the close games to turn the tide. I think and hope they can as I do think they have a good team, albeit perhaps not great. They also can’t lose many to bad teams going forward. All I can say is ‘Go Twins’ and hope for the best.

    The Twins have, I'd say, held their own against better teams. So ... I think there is a lot to be said for this. The Twins do need more fierce competition. In lieu of that, I hope they find a way to give it to themselves because I don't think they have a bad team. (Doesn't mean I think the team is great, but that this team has always had potential, imo.)

    Agree. I like the idea behind the usage but yes, as you said, he has to be more efficient

    While it seems like we’ve had some unlucky losses, the play where Jeffers scores, it was a very good thing the catcher couldn’t hold onto the ball because Jeffers would have been out by a good margin, imo. So, maybe that was a bit lucky for us, for a change. I’ll take it, though. As you said, a win is a win, and I’m glad.for it! 🙂

    1. Gray himself kind of answers that in the video clip in the article. I wondered, too, since I was only following on gameday and asked that question in the game thread. He threw 31 pitches in that final inning, starting off with a walk. He said he got out of it, but after the 2-run homer to come out and walk the first batter takes away the momentum. And he said it was the right call. Guess it’s hard to argue it if Gray seemed to think it was okay. And you know he’d say it if he didn’t think so 2. Your guess is as good as anyone’s. My question is why is he still even on the active roster … a question for the FO

    It’s interesting that they are using Duran for more than one inning. Will this then limit his availability or are they purposely stretching him out a little? I hope his shoulder holds up, though, considering how hard he throws.

    If you were giving 110%, you would have gotten the recyclables out in the first place. Just sayin'. And not sure what I'm saying, other than ... I don't agree with your analogy, but I do agree with the spirit of it. 🙂

    Bench him? I want him DFA’d at this point. That is THE ONE and only move that is absolutely necessary from every angle. It would send a message to players, to on-field staff, to the fans. He should have already been gone. I was willing to see how he’d do at the beginning of the season, not that I wanted him, but willing to let it play out. It has. That one move is it. If the FO can’t pull it off, well, then Pohlad needs to replace Falvey. These things start at the top.

    Gallo does. When he’s not on the IL. But then we have his occasional feast but mostly famine bat. But when we DFA Kepler when Gallo returns, he’s the defensive replacement. And I’d rather have his bat, which isn’t saying much

    But no, it doesn't. One guy gets on base and no one can get him home? What's the score? Sorry, we need more than one guy. I get the frustration and being upset over losing Arraez, but, that truly is not the answer, imho. The approach to hitting is off ... that's the fix, not one player we traded.

    Arraez alone doesn’t do it, though. He didn’t last year, he wouldn’t have this year. One player isn’t the answer.

    Right. I didn't mention Wallner. Larnach is the one being activated, but for whom we don't know yet. I assume Garlick, unless there is someone headed to the IL.

    Larnach will be activated tonight ... for whom is yet tbd. What Brian suggested is something I've picked up elsewhere, that Larnach was imminent and they didn't want to bring back Wallner for a couple of days because of the limits there, so, Garlick was up and it makes sense he goes back down. But ... are Kepler's migraines IL worthy?
