  1. Well, it's that time of year again ... have to run to the post office to send a care package to a new college coed!
  2. Does that work?
  3. That's why I used the word 'or' ...
  4. Especially at this point in the season. And I know for certain that your editor also does not fact check these things ... she's more concerned with properly placed/used commas.
  5. I'm not sure the complaint is that they didn't go for it, as in all in, it's that they didn't do anything at this deadline. While it disappoints me some, I'm also fine letting it ride, as you say. At this point there's no choice but to do that. Yes, perhaps this wasn't the year to go for a Verlander type, but a bat or a RP seemed plausible and yet didn't do even that. Not sure what attempts were/weren't made, though, so I'll expend my energy cheering and save the grumbling in hindsight, even though there's no way of knowing for sure if any addition would have made the difference, for when it's over.
  6. Yes, sort of. I actually knew of this a while ago. He's a very good friend of someone (another former Minnesotan) I play tennis with.
  7. Yeah ... I've talked to several people in the PT field ... the weight isn't a cause/effect in recovery for this, according to their expertise. Would he be a healthier, better player over all if he did? Varying opinions on that, too. While I'm borderline for him losing weight, I would hope he doesn't put more on. There is no way for any of us to really know what his optimal weight should be ... at what point is it/will it be a a hindrance. We do not have first-hand, detailed knowledge of his physical being, nor are most of us trained/have expertise to interpret these details professionally beyond speculating what we think seems logical from appearances only, which is not the way to conclude anything about anyone's body. But this is really a separate issue from his injury, which is what the topic is. As for Bux, good to know that it's 'just' a contusion in the hamate area and doesn't look like he'll be put on the DL at this point.
  8. Wish I could attend this year ... it's truly a fun event ... hope all who go enjoy!!
  9. Wowie! That's some chicken! Edit: ninja' by howeda7
  10. Yeah, precaution removal vs something minor vs something major ... will have to wait. That's why I was questioning. Thanks.
  11. No, I'm out of market and my only option is the Sox broadcast who said Buck getting a few innings off ... but what do they know. Gleeman is saying it appears he tweaked something, but awaiting confirmation.
  12. I'm not peer pressure but Chi-pressure.
  13. Okay, hate doing this, but I checked Twitter. The only one saying anything is Gleeman, who is awaiting confirmation, but it 'appears' Buck 'tweaked something' in his last at bat.
  14. Then you are old enough to volunteer to do a game thread ...
  15. I've heard nothing on this yet ... is that for sure?
  16. 'That's Gimenz with a G rather than a J.'
  17. Okay, now the Sox are talking about Prince and partying like it's 1999 ... and then veered off into talking about the paisley shirts they have ... Yeah.
  18. Well, if it had closed before I got there, then it wasn't meant to be.
  19. ftfy ... since calculus started us off in that scope ... not just math but more ... ick.
