  1. Yes, I did. I've been to both a few times (more than, actually), and I would choose Guaranteed every time. Yeah, Wrigley is practically a national monument to baseball, but it's a dump of a stadium to watch a game. The field is pristine, but behind that ivy is a solid brick wall that even players don't like, but nothing will be done with it because it's Wrigley and the ivy. And as for the neighborhood, yeah, tons more bars and stuff around Wrigley, but also a lot more stupid drunks getting into fights, some dangerous, lots more theft and pick pocketing.
  2. Interesting. There were fireworks there yesterday, today as well. And there will be a big post-game fireworks display there on Friday.
  3. But I will say this, not considering the product on the field, between the two stadiums, I'd much rather go to Guaranteed Rate Field than Wrigley for every reason imaginable. Safety, transportation to/from, accessibility, comfort, food ... Guaranteed isn't a great ballpark, but Wrigley is a downright dump.
  4. Really? People get shot leaving Guaranteed Rate Field?
  5. Pretty much not. Even the media in town here forgot the Sox won the WS in 2005 when they proclaimed last year when the Cubs went to the WS how the city of Chicago hadn't seen a WS in over 100 yrs.
  6. Ya think??? I didn't know that snepp ever joked on here! /S
  7. Heh, I'm sure. I just can't imagine running bases or being on the field with those heavy necklaces bouncing on my chest. Same with women tennis players and their dangling earrings ... it would drive me nuts and don't understand how a few earlobes aren't ripped during matches.
  8. Yes, thought so. Check your notifications in a minute.
  9. You do know that spin is my brother, yes? For spin that's a rock/hard place question.
  10. I'm not sure if this was a serious mod note or not, but either way, ish.
  11. I've downsized my shoe collection by a lot. I have far less than 100 pairs now. But I know several men who have far more than that. Further, I said 'athletes' ... I wasn't specifically criticizing male athletes, but yes, Vargas' necklaces reminded me of my dislike of this.
  12. Why do athletes wear big jewelry when they play? Drives me nuts.
  13. It's actually a very nice night out tonight. Being at the game tonight would have been much nicer than yesterday, but I still opted out. I'll go tomorrow and Thurs.
  14. Brock's on it ...
  15. It's only on my phone while in the mobile version. When I go to full version, that seems to abate.
  16. I'm going to try staying in full version mode as that seems to help but it's much more difficult to read and maneuver the site on my phone in that mode.
  17. Brock, now I'm getting this, too, but only when using my phone. Here are the screen captures.
  18. I'm still sort of debating whether or not to go after yesterday's LOOOOONG day at the doubleheader ... yes? No? Yes? No? Hmm ...
  19. Daly Plaza Farmer's Market, 7a-3p. Might have to check it out this week or next while I'm on vacation.
  20. And the thunderstorm cometh. Good thing this one didn't run as long.
  21. Where's your office? I might have to show up tomorrow morning!
  22. I found it ... if you look at the online schedule on the Twins site, they list this 2nd game as the make up game.
