  1. Just what I was going to say. While I get how the two issues ... gun violence prevention and mental health access ... cross paths, and tackling one would have an affect on the other, they are SEPARATE issues and need to be addressed separately. Writing gun laws specific to persons with mental health issues doesn't work on so many levels and I think in some instances have been ruled unconstitutional.
  2. Maybe if the authorities released the photos of the victims' bodies, so that everyone can see what these weapons do, that it's not 'just' a gunshot wound like you see on TV. That's what a friend of mine thinks. She went to Columbine HS. She wasn't there when it happened but friends of hers were as was her sister. Her sister was in the library. Maybe we should also revisit the lives of the survivors. That was also a suggestion of hers. She wasn't even there but in her words her life was severely altered. A friend of hers still suffers from ptsd. It's really quite unbelievable that that was 18 yrs ago. As much as the culture of guns has become inextricably entwined in our identity, so have these shootings, any shooting really. It's just commonplace now and nothing changes.
  3. Wel, **** ,,. Fine time to tune in ... I'm not watching
  4. Lol ... I'm home now. And I can barely stand to watch!
  5. ****!!!!! I missed a home run! Damn ****ing late rehearsals!
  6. OkAy don't give anything away until I'm home!
  7. See? We need a barf emoji, Brick ... er, I mean Brock! Damn auto correct!
  8. We'd let you know all about that if you had a barf emoji to choose from.
  9. You should join us in the game thread! That's the place to be! http://twinsdaily.com/topic/27703-article-al-wild-card-game-thread-twins-yankees-103709pm-ct/ Make your game day comments there!
  10. This is what the game thread is for ... and that's a comment that has been mentioned. I'd merge this with the game thread if I could, but I can't, so instead am redirecting and closing. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/27703-article-al-wild-card-game-thread-twins-yankees-103709pm-ct/ Thanks.
  11. Heh, nope. I think my autocorrect thinks ick is a valid choice while ish is not
  12. And lineups are up ... check the article or op ...
  13. Ish or Ick Van, you check this one off the list, too. And just for an aside ... my autocorrect kept wanting to change 'ish' to 'Ash.' Hmmm ....
  14. Every day there's a Twins game there's a game Thread!
  15. So, a 'friend' of mine on FB posted a video montage of the victims of this shooting and said 'We need to remember their faces' and I just want to respond, 'For what purpose and to what end? Did you know any of these people? Do you remember all the faces of the victims of Columbine, Newtown, Orlando, etc? What about these victims families and friends, to the survivors, what of them? Where will you be in their pain and grief and ptsd?' I'm so sick of this. And this friend will also post every meme of the NRA because, well, thoughts and prayers this time, and the next, and the next, and the next as bodies are shot to pieces.
  16. Yeah, I hadn't heard that one, either. The things one learns on TD!
  17. And he's gone ... https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tom-petty-legendary-rocker-is-dead-at-66/
  18. And then there's the guy who chose Door #4 ...
  19. heh ... I saw that after it posted ... derp ... auto-correct ... or a typo ... i and o are too close together on a cell phone keypad ... but i decided to just let it go because I'm tired of editing stuff, even my own Sorry, Brick ... er, I mean Brock ... damn it!
  20. That's where I'd go if I lived in Mps ... 10 yrs to go and I will be. As it is I work until 7 that evening and will have it on as soon as I get home so I'll miss the 1st inning or two ... three if it's 3 up and down every half.
  21. I'm on my cell now ... nothing popping up. It would have by now. All I can suggest is if it's problematic, notify Brick and switch to full version mode. For now it's good for me. Yeah, and famous last words. Something out there heard that and I expect to be bombarded for it later today.
