  1. Oh come on, Ben. We are talking about large dogs on a plane. And the man who was recently attacked by such a dog. Trained service dogs don’t do that. Those who require such animals also want better policies.
  2. And then there's this wonkiness, while using Firefox. And as I'm typing this, I get a message box that reads "33 New Replies" ... which happens when someone else is posting a message as I'm typing mine. But there aren't 33 new replies. Those are all the replies already here. And I still have to scroll waaaaaaay down just to get the 'Add reply' button. This hasn't been fixed. That 1, 2, 3 business ... those are the pages at the bottom of a thread. And the jumping around has gotten worse. I get it ... I'm all for paying the writers more, they deserve it. But ugh ...
  3. But if there's still interest and still belief he could be what someone else needs, why wouldn't we work to harness that? As I said, I get the frustration and the patience is definitely thin, but I think we need to be careful about trading him. I'd want something great in return, and I don't see anyone giving up something great for him at this time.
  4. You can mention it, but I don't think he'd garner much of anything. And with our offense doing what it's doing anyway, it just doesn't hurt to let him try and figure it out for now. That said, yes, my patience is running out, too. The All-Star break is still a month away ... so there is time there. And then we'll see.
  5. I’m actually fine with small animals that fit in a carrier that fits under the seat in front of them. That has always been the standard. I have friends who went the support animal route when one of their dogs was too big for that and they of course had to take them everywhere.
  6. Well, maybe. If it becomes an industry-wide regulation to ban emotional support dogs, people who want to get somewhere will just be forced to either leave their pets at home or find other transportation if they want to take them along. They can dislike it all they want but how did they manage before? I love animals, but owners should not be entitled to inflict them on anyone, especially in a confined, closed space such as an airplane. I could go on and on about this, down to the leash laws in Chicago that too many just ignore because, well, they and their animals don't need to follow laws.
  7. Leon Redbone died on the 30th. rip.
  8. statfreak ... that you?
  9. Agree. Completely.
  10. oh well ... so much for panic. go twins.
  11. Mostly I agree. But I don't agree with banning service dogs for the blind. There is a difference between service animals and emotional support animals. The latter most definitely should not be allowed. Too many can very easily abuse that, and do.
  12. Yep ... many places are already banning emotional support animals. Service animals are a different story, however, and that's okay with me. I sat next to a woman on a flight who had her emotional support animal, a very lovely golden retriever who was afraid of flying. The poor thing shook and cried, then laid his head in my lap. And she says to me ... 'He's working.' Like hell. That is not a trained service or emotional support animal. People actually have their dogs go through emotional support training just to get the certification so they can fly with their dogs. At least the airlines are now asking for certification verification. There was a time all you had to do was buy the jacket and on you went. I know people who did this.
  13. Right ... however ... my point was ... they are in the same time zone as Mike, who is in Pacific time zone. To tell someone who can't figure it out ... MST ... that would be just as confusing, most likely. So ... I dealt with the actual times.
  14. Lol ... well ... 4:10 vs 6:10CT ... that's a two hour difference, right? How many hours difference between central and mountain time? One hour. What is the time difference between central and Pacific time? Two hours. Therefore, I conclude, that Arizona is currently in the Pacific time zone. If that's where you are, so there you go. Another way to figure it out, oh forget it. That was enough.
  15. This is how Lauren Underwood won her Congressional seat. She beat an incumbent Republican and that race wasn’t on anyone’s radar it was assumed the Republican would win. She ran a grassroots campaign and went into every corner, rural and suburbs, and talked to people and ran her campaign on healthcare and gun control. In a conservative district in Illinois that is part rural and part suburb. And won. Wasn’t even close. And an election no one predicted she’d win.
  16. YOU'RE OUT OF ORDER! YOU'RE OUT OF ORDER! THIS WHOLE THREAD IS OUT OF ORDER!
  17. WTF IS THE MATTER WITH YOU PEOPLE
  18. And throw salt over you shoulder, and pick up that penny, and don’t walk under the ladder, and don’t drop the mirror, and turn around three times counter clockwise and touch your toes ...
  19. You don't always take winning well, either
  20. We did make a 'rule', however, that the central time zone must also be listed in the title. It does make the title a little ... more challenging ... but it's all in fun!
  21. I thought about voting this year because the Twins are doing so well ... then decided, pfft, who cares, really, about the all-star game. With fan voting, it should be renamed the fan-star game. That said, as of today, several Twins deserve spots and several more deserve consideration. Hope a couple of them get it.
  22. We need a heart emoji ... well, something other than this
  23. I was diagnosed with an impingement years ago ... I'm a tennis player, although I was still occasionally playing a pick-up softball game or two at the time ... it had me out for a few months. I did a combination of rest, physical therapy, anti-inflammatories (prescribed vs over-the-counter), and personal training. As I said, out for a few months.
