  1. If you get to a green patch ... I'd stop licking ...
  2. Do you really need it in winter? All you need is an ice cream scoop and the outdoors, and some flavoring.

  4. To upgrade the rotation, to get a top end starter, will cost, a lot. Think Lee or Lewis. I’m fine using Lee for a big return like that. Are you? Because it will take someone like that, and then some. I do think this trade is a precursor. Will have to wait and see. If nothing else happens, then I will be right with you and not like it. But Polanco has had issues of late keeping healthy. I will miss his bat in the lineup, so hopefully there is payroll room now to do that. But Polo’s defense just was okay. I’m hopeful Julien can improve. If we haven’t traded Lee for pitching, he can come in, too.
  5. We weren’t going to get more for Polanco or Kepler, as some still want him traded or would have preferred him instead. We have the depth in the infield so moving Polanco made the most sense. I look at it as we got a decent BP arm and a top-100 prospect. We need starters to fill out the rotation and DeSclafani does that and can hopefully eat some innings. If he can’t do that, it won’t hurt to cut him. We have infielders and needed the room. And I am hoping we can find a bit more room in another trade.
  6. With this in the Twins forum and the other in the Front Page News forum, let’s not split this discussion yet a third way. Move the convo to one of those places. Thanks.
  7. That Kirilloff will be 1st/OF/DH, Julien will be 1st/2nd/DH … since they didn’t sign anyone to fill in that spot, that’s my guess. ‘A lot of’ is a relative term … more than last year, certainly, could seem like ‘a lot of’ and I expect more than last year.
  8. You aren’t really downtown and is probably just as easy to exit at 18th as it is to exit at 35th/36th. True it won’t be right off the interstate but you aren’t in downtown traffic there, either. But yeah, the south commuter line would be an option in that location. If it ever gets built.
  9. Hrbek at 1st would be my nod. Then Killebrew can stay at 3rd.
  10. It’s built and lots of people are asking why it’s not opened yet EDIT: The road is built ... not the rest of this. The rest of this ... we'll see ... don't know who all will be living there. It's not like Chicago is that short of 'luxury' living ... now, if several of those buildings are affordable housing, maybe
  11. As I said, I’ll be shocked if this goes through for the White Sox. Their current stadium is serviceable; there just is absolutely nothing special about it, but it’s not a dump. The sight lines are decent, it’s easy to navigate and get to/from, and food and beverage choices are good enough, but I have no idea how the player facilities are. I assume not as bad as Oakland or Wrigley. I’m really on the side that the money spent on new stadiums is just obscene. And why I don’t want to foot the bill and think no tax payer should. But if Reinsdorf can find the funding for this venture, I’d be all for it. And it’s walking distance from where I live. And how cool would it be to take a water taxi to the game?
  12. The Metrodome was about that, wasn’t it? And that age is 30 yrs, not 40, for both.
  13. I would be shocked if this goes forward, but some of these renderings are kind of cool. It’s a great location, but many of the fans here want Reinsdorf to move the team to Nashville, leaving the White Sox name behind for an eventual expansion team. Beyond infrastructure/transit help from the city and state, I don’t see either entity agreeing to taxpayer funding, and I don’t see Reinsdorf building it without that help. https://chicago.urbanize.city/post/renderings-emerge-potential-white-sox-stadium-78
  14. And yes, I cleared my history, just in case that helped
  15. More seems broken for me today. No reaction emojis and the forum avatars are missing again that seemed fixed yesterday.
  16. Feel free to skip articles pertaining to Buxton. There are plenty of others to read.
  17. Moderator note: There were a few comments here that were over the line. Please keep it respectful and on topic. Leave the name calling and inappropriate analogies out of it.
  18. Your opening sentence seems to be in disagreement with your title. The title is incorrect.
  19. Let’s stay focussed … perhaps the next time someone here interviews Julien and asks us to give our questions, we can ask him the translation.
  20. Could this also be why the forum avatars are missing? Noticed the Rumors and Front Page News forums seem to be missing their logos.
