  1. You didn't miss much ... game or game thread, from what I am reading
  2. Give the Ober/under in how many ‘jokes’ Chief will try to pun on Ober’s name? Go Twins!
  3. That's not very positive :)
  4. I agree. But the question was who's keeping him from playing and why. Can't know that but I think Chief gave the most reasonable explanation. I think I clarified my position in my next post. So keep reading. Yeah, I'd like him to get a chance to play, but it is what it is.
  5. I was being a little bit over the top. While I don't think we have the greatest out there, I don't think we have the worst, either. And I think compared to what most everyone on these boards would do, I think they do better. Most on these boards are without all the details and are way too emotional and reactionary. That said, I don't know why Camargo hasn't played yet. I wish they'd give us a public explanation, but what do they say? 'We don't think he's good enough.' 'He's not ready yet.' 'Our pitchers don't want him.' 'We don't trust him.' 'We're stupid and stubborn and refuse to play him.' I mean, honestly, who knows? It's certainly frustrating to see these rookies get called up only to sit. I mean, play them, for goodness sakes. Who knows who will spark and we certainly need a spark right now. Why bother otherwise? But then, maybe it's just easier for me to detach from these things than others.
  6. Maybe the pitchers don’t want him to catch them? Who knows. But it’s more likely that everyone from the manager and coaches to the FO are just horrible at their jobs and being nefarious in some way
  7. @Riverbrian should understand that one, because sometimes his articles were edited, too, because they made no sense
  8. No, you did it to say ‘See? I told you so,’ but sugar-coat it how you like 🙂
  9. They aren’t going to DFA Brock Stewart.
  10. Hoping the Twins can make it 3 of 4. With the ‘good Ober on the mound, we should have more than a fighting chance.
  11. Considering it’s April and considering SWR has limited experience in the majors, I think what he pitched was respectable. I don’t know if I’d call it deep, but this time of year, if a pitcher goes 6 or 7, it’s good enough. With pitchers throwing harder and with more spin, more than they ever were even 5 yrs ago, not sure it’s reasonable to expect a lot of 8-9 inning pitchers, and certainly not in April. Pitching is more expensive than ever and more prone to injury than ever, we aren’t going to see a lot of complete or deep games anymore. He got the job done and maybe was more than many expected.
  12. I don’t get the quick hook to put Varland in the BP when we need starters. My guess is it’s where he’s likely to end up in his career, but we need him right where he is right now
  13. Context we all forget about, but now down Correa, too … Hope we can hold it even, at least
  14. Ah, someone who actually speaks baseball in a game thread. Refreshing.
  15. It’s currently wet and icky in Detroit, but it looks like that rain will be moving away. I’m guessing a late start but that a game will get played. Go Twins!
  16. Yeah ... seems like they are working really hard to make sure he's innocent, but who knows. When you have that much money and hand over your trust to someone else? Who knows. I mean, embezzlement is a thing. How does anyone not know, yet, it happens. I guess when you have too much money, it's easier for some of it to get 'lost' in the shuffle?
  17. For me, it takes too much energy. I don’t have high hopes for the team anyway, so, my expectations were already tempered. Yeah, I get it, I hate losing, too. But I think I’d give it until mid-May. Didn’t we start out slow last year, and then took off when Royce was ready at the end of May? I could be misremembering. It’s a looooong season and there are a lot of games left.
  18. I mean ... early season funk after only a couple games? Not sure I'd call it that. Yet. And given what he's had to deal with this spring, I'm going to give him a little leeway.
