    I'm not grading it an A ... but on paper, today ... it does look like a win win ... but of course, you can't really judge it until all is said and done. So ... if the Rays don't win a ring, do they get an F?

    I actually don't have a problem with it. The way minor leaguers are paid, I don't blame him for wanting as much as he can get up front. And I would bet some on his team know exactly what he's doing. And maybe he really has decided to see if he goes higher next year. And it was kind of funny in another thread someone with the same last name commented that he thought Birdsell would be the first of this years draftees to make it to the majors.

    Some places I know never stopped with the mask wearing indoors. I have a friend who lives in France and she said they still have to wear masks indoors. Everyone, vaccinated or unvaccinated, should probably consider that in crowded, public, indoor spaces, such as the grocery store. I put mine on when I'm in line at a register. At work we had to fill out an online form as to our vaccinated status and those who are not vaccinated have no choice ... masks, indoors or outdoors, AND they have to get tested every week.

    That is absolutely the right approach. We all know that it's pitching that gets you through the playoffs and any contending team will want to add him ... so pay up. That said ... is there a team that would make that deal? Would you? I'd certainly enter into the bargaining to see what it would really take, but if that's a firm line ... dunno. Seems like they are betting on a team being desperate enough ... I hope it's not the White Sox.

    Had a photoshoot today at work ... taking portraits for various reasons ... and I'm not the best subject. It's just uncomfortable to 'pose' on command, with flashes and whatnot. So, he says to me: "Stop blinking so much." My response, "Then quit flashing me." I started laughing when I heard it. What did you do today?
