  1. So quiet in here ... we are up 4-0, Polanco did it again, some great playing ... hmmm
  2. Gant is already scheduled to start on Thursday. (Not sure why no one looks at that.) Is that a bp game?
  3. I agree ... That's why I mentioned Strotman as first up, because of those on the 40-man, well ... who else is there? And then Dobnak - I think they will want him to make another rehab start before they can determine for certain he's ready. Ryan isn't yet on the 40-man ... I hope he gets an opportunity in September, but I don't see him being the first up, even though he's the one I want to see most. He's also scheduled to pitch tomorrow in St. Paul, I think Strotman is scheduled for Friday or Saturday (?). That fits better into our schedule of need ... unless they bring Ryan up for Thursday? Ugh ... will have to wait and see ... and Maeda hasn't been placed on the IL officially yet, I don't think. (Someone correct me on that if I'm wrong.)
  4. Just looking at starters on the Saint's roster ... first, who is on the 40-man ... Burrows (I thought he was removed?), Duran (IL), Farrell (rehab assignment) and Strotman ... I think they will go with Strotman first. Dobnak has had 1 rehab start in Fort Myers, but he may be back up soon-ish. Then there are several not on the 40-man ... and of course, Ryan tops that list for me. Sheesh ... they gotta start trying these arms. This is just not good.
  5. They'd better be getting up all the starters they can from AAA to get their feet wet ...
  6. Jax, Ober and Gant are already scheduled for the next three starts. Saying 'Ryan has pitched better' in one start isn't really saying much. I would love to see Ryan up and it was my 'prediction' he'd be up in the next home stand. However ... Strotman is already on the 40-man and Ryan is scheduled to pitch tomorrow. Don't recall when Strotman last pitched or when scheduled, but my guess he would be the next called up. Then again ... is there someone else on the 40-man that they could call up to pitch one game?
  7. That's what I was going to add as I went through and read posts. That seems a no brainer. And no way Austin Martin gets a call up in September, no way. Not sure why he would even be on this list. They aren't going to add him to the 40-man when he doesn't need to be added this year. That would be foolish. If he's in AAA next year doing well, maybe he'll get a September call up in 2022.
  8. I think you tell by how good or not you felt about voting/not voting for him to begin with
  9. Maybe I should redo the poll to ask ... who gets a start first ... Strotman or Ryan? But then, Strotman is already on the 40-man, but I think Ryan projects better? there has been so much juggling this year due to injuries and illness, who knows anymore
  10. I just really can't see him not getting a start or two with the Twins. While I truly don't have a clue when it comes to these decisions, not having him pitch this year in Minneapolis would really baffle me
  11. I was just going to call you out for laughing at my pick
  12. So typical of the big east coast teams ... Boston, Philly and Yankees ...
  13. Well, at least @Aggies7 didn't have to see Donaldson, his favorite player, strike out just now
  14. It's on FS1 for me today ... not on the Extra Innings channel
  15. I've had issues with Comcast ... I think you can still get it online through the xfinity site or xfinity app ... can't remember how I did it, but it worked.
  16. I would think injuries being more prevalent might give him an opportunity (meaning someone else goes on the IL), or are you saying they will be more cautious with him because of possible injuries to him? (Was he pitching last year at the Rays' alternate site? I don't recall what has been said about him.) But, with the minor leagues going through September, don't you think he might get a look in the majors?
  17. From the weather, it looks like the rain and high winds won't hit the city until tomorrow. I'd say today's game is safe, but a make up game is likely. Really didn't want to have to go back at a later time, but we may have to. The two open days the Twins and Yanks have in common are September 13 and 27.
  18. Now that Ryan has pitched his first game in the Twins system, with the Saints last night, does anyone have further thoughts on this?(I've updated the choices.) This article and this one, too, describe his outing. Even @Lucas Seehafer PT thinks this is a hard one, when asked:
  19. The minor league season now goes through September. Unless you think we'll make the playoffs (hahahaha), there won't be a month added to the time he would have spent pitching. I'd like to see him up to get that taste, even if he isn't up the whole time.
  20. I hardly doubt they don't have a clue. I think this kind of rhetoric is just ridiculous. With all the injuries and illnesses this team has had this year, it's been more juggling of the roster and players than usual. And at this point, they are trying out a lot of the fringe players to evaluate before jettisoning, because that's what you do in a lost season. We have seen a lot of rookies this year, even if not the ones or the many we want. Because it's not always what we like or want to see doesn't mean they don't have a clue. They know better than us, even with the seeming mistakes or actual mistakes they make. But I agree, I haven't a clue what they will do, either.
  21. When do you think we'll see Ryan pitch for the Twins? Our next home stand? September? or next season? (I actually started a poll on this earlier in the week.)
  22. I thought Sano was out on paternity leave? Did I hear that wrong?
