  1. My mom on the Cubs’ announcers: ‘These guys talk too much’
  2. And now ownership wants to put in a betting parlour connected to Wrigley ... well, a gambling arena, whatever it's called ... of course, it has to get by the city council and the landmark commission. They sucked up all the real estate around Wrigley, they put their team on a pay cable network, even to local fans, and now this. Yup ... not sure how people remain loyal to the team.
  3. I grew up in Winona! Maybe I knew her? Although I don't recall knowing any Cubs fans, and if I did, likely wouldn't be friends with them. yeah ... it hasn't been that long. If we go as we are another 70 yrs, okay, then maybe I'll wonder about a curse.
  4. Really wish I were in the Twin Cities ... what a game to see ... most exciting thing all season ... lol
  5. Me, too ... not sure why people obsess over guys with long hair and beards. Big deal. But I love his hair.
  6. why? Are you Delilah wanting cut off Samson's long curly locks?
  7. Woohoo!!! It's Ryan time! :)

  8. Yay!!!!! Guess it's NOT a service time issue! /s
  9. And it's done ... heeeeeeeeeer's Joe!
  10. Strotman just pitched, though ... on Sunday, I think ... but with Ryan now slated to pitch Wednesday for the Saints ... that could go either way ... they've either already decided he's not coming up, or, they shuffled him around to get him in line to pitch with the Twins Wednesday. I'd say it's a 50-50 shot now. As to your other question, not sure what the rules are. That would be an @Otto von Ballpark question ... do you know? And even though I put Celestino on that poll, I had forgotten ... he might be the one, but then, Bux is back and Gordon still up, so not sure if Celestino has a place? He was called up earlier than I think he would have been, basically jumping from AA, given all the injuries this year, so I think they may just leave him in AAA for the rest of the year to play. Unless they move Refsnyder down? Honestly, I just don't know!
  11. Yep. I had been watching what the Saints were doing. Last week I was sure I saw Ryan in to pitch today, then both today and tomorrow were tbd, when I put together my poll, and now they have Jason today (who was called up from Witchita ... yesterday? - I think I read that in yesterday's Minor League report), and Ryan tomorrow ... so that was a big 'hmmmm' for me ... would love to get a glimpse of the travel manifest to see if Ryan is really on it ... oh the intrigue!!!
  12. Doesn't mean that he will start for the Saints Wednesday ... but is lined up to pitch Wednesday ... could be they are just going about 'business as usual' to make an announcement for Wednesday? (That's my spin and my hope, anyway)
  13. I see that Ryan is now 'pencilled in' to pitch for the Saints on Wednesday ... hmmm ... that would line up, well, perfectly (I hope)
  14. Today and tomorrow were also TBD for the Saints when I put up my poll re Sept 1 call ups, but now I see they have Jason Garcia (call up from Witchita and not to be confused with the Garcia of this thread) slotted for today (it was Ryan, when I looked last week, I think) and Ryan for Wednesday. Hmmm ...
  15. We've already been told that Dobnak will be activated from the IL and starting on Friday, so he won't be up by Sept. 1. I'm guessing Ryan will be starting on Wednesday. As for the other? Moran or Hamilton. But I think we'll see others make appearances throughout September.
  16. I'm not sure what the strategy will be, but the major league roster bumps up to 28 players on September 1st. With the minor leagues still playing through September, it's likely going to be a lot of shuttling going on with those extra spots, but maybe not. In any case, it will begin with the 1st two. Who will it be? Wednesday's slot has 'tbd' pitching vs the Cubs. Could we finally see Ryan? I see that the Saints also have 'tbd' pitching (as of just now) for tomorrow and Wednesday ... so ... discussion must be going on involving a starting pitcher. We won't have to wait long to find out. But until then ... what is your guess of a call up on Wednesday?
  17. I might misbehave a little every so often, but not stupidly so. But the views here are lovely.
  18. Following from 30k ft above ground
  19. He pitched yesterday ... we'll see him against the Cubs 31 Aug or 1 Sept ... that's my latest guess (and hope). He could pitch as early as Monday 30 Aug in the make up game against Detroit .... I wish I knew now!
  20. Um ... what? Seriously, don't do that kind of stuff
  21. Yeah ... wondering the same ... 6th finished up without Boston scoring
  22. Oh, and Sano clearing the monster
