    I was an advocate to trading him during the offseason after the 2019 season ... I think his value was highest then. That offseason I wanted to trade Arraez, move Polanco to 2nd and sign a SS ... can't remember who was available then. <shrug> It is what it is. I think he could get traded this offseason, but we'll see.

    I think only 2 are certain as of right now ... Ober and Ryan ... but ... depends on the rest of the year and ST. Even though Gant has done ... respectably okay ... I don't see him starting next year. I would have added Winder, maybe, to your list ... I think he has the same chance as some you have on there (i.e. Balazovic and Strotman ... neither of whom I see beginning the season in the Twins rotation, along with Winder). Bottom line ... I can be a cynic and say 4. But, honestly, I just don't know.

    It's getting to the point that I'm even looking forward to Gant pitching! I just gant stand it! Ober and out!

    And, not to mention, made the infield defense worse. I mean ... Drew Maggi? Of the 3 the poster mentioned who could cover SS and 2B ... uhhhhhh ... I'd be upset if we spent that kind of money on pitching and then put that behind them. I mean, yeah, we need good pitching, but we also need to field a decent team.

    Was that really scored a GS? I would think it was a triple, and then he advanced to home on the throwing error? (Guess I could look it up)

    Yeah ... because that's a legit comparison. Ober was still a prospect last year and didn't pitch last year. This is his first experience in the majors and Robbie Ray is a veteran pitcher. Why don't you try comparing what Ray did in his first year in the majors? That might tell a different story.

    Just because we are trying out all these arms this month doesn't mean that they will be going into next season with them as starters. I'd say Ober and Dobnak have a good shot, but I'd give almost 0 chance the others you mentioned. Hope I'm right about that. There is work to be done in the off season, no doubt about that.
