No But it’s still going to be okay

Yep, I said that early on … never the 9th for him. Although, sheesh, a 5-run lead shouldn’t be insurmountable for him in any inning
  4. Squirrel
    Ugh
  5. Squirrel
    That’s not very comforting

Didn’t he settle in pretty well for us last year? I think I’ve already blocked last year from my mind so I honest,y don’t remember
  7. Squirrel
Eh. Remains to be seen. But maybe if he takes the Jax route. Certainly not sold, but I’m not writing him off yet, either
  8. Squirrel
    We’ll, he didn’t tonight as a Yankee ?
  9. Squirrel
Great throw. Donaldson. Urshela woulda had that
  10. Squirrel
That would be no fun, though
  11. Squirrel
You don’t say. I’ve never heard you ever mention it before
  12. Squirrel
I think so. He’s been out 17 days and I don’t think has been working out, at least not with the Twins. Here’s and update on Lewis and in this thread it also mentions Winder.

Not Royce or Gray, but looks like Ryan is ready for a rehab start … not sure when though
  14. Squirrel
Francona? But … is there such a designation for managers … cream of the crop?
  15. Squirrel
More than that … if you count Paddack … Ryan, Gray, Ober, Paddack, Winder
  16. Squirrel
The Joes are having a bit of a bad run these days …

You just got this in before me ,,, this was the link I was going to provide … https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/angels-fire-joe-maddon-manager-out-with-team-in-midst-of-12-game-losing-streak/

Right. I agree with all of that. All my point was, if this trade is made I think some people are going to think we spent too much and could have gotten him for less (given some of the thoughts here). Oakland is in the driver's seat on this and we are going to have to give up a couple of good prospects to get him. I think your comparison to the Berrios trade is spot on ... that's who it will take.

It’s really a pity to me that we can’t have an honest discussion on these issues and instead get the ‘what abouters’ doing their thing claiming some kind of constitutional freedom or religious right to object to people who have done nothing to you. There is a reason we have protections for people who are demeaned, threatened, and violated in countless ways. Shame on all of you for claiming a righteous path when Jesus’ message is about loving one another and not just people you think deserve it. thread closed.

This was actually stated at the press conference announcing Baldelli as the new manager. Not word for word, but this is what they said ... the like-minded ness in approach.
  22. Squirrel
This is something I’d think about. I don’t know who was ready or warmed up, but I guess because we had a 5-run lead they wanted to push him to work through it? But I’m glad he did eventually come out. I’m not sure I would have put him in, but with a 5-run lead, damn.

I think they played a good game all around and beat a good team. Lots of things happen during a game … some we like, some we don’t. We won. That’s the bottom line, the goal. We can nitpick all we want about how it should have gone and say what they did was all wrong. But, we won so it couldn’t have been all wrong.
  24. Squirrel
Right. A stupid plan so stupid that we won. Right. Just dumb.

Duran was likely going to get the 9th, too, then got hit by a pitch. There is no traditional closer in baseball anymore. That’s the game today.
