  1. Heh ... that would be interesting, and if real, I'd probably have already added it to my music box collection. The last time I was in Switzerland, I was very close to the Reuge factory ... sigh ... it just didn't quite work out to figure out how to get there for a drooling visit. But one day, perhaps ... Reuge
  2. I think that was Brian's reference in his game thread intro ... Jessica from Stillwater, the big ape from Wisconsin.
  3. Lol ... I collect refrigerator magnets ... I've travelled quite a bit over the years and those are the only souvenirs I purchase for myself. I have been known to buy myself a more extravagent gift, but that really has little to do with being a souvenir and more to do with buying myself an occasional nice gift, like these Reuge music boxes from Switzerland. And these Japanese woodblock prints:
  4. Just a note to everyone ... June game threads are now completely booked! WTG, volunteers! And just a note to the 'newbie' threaders ... don't take too long to jump on in! Using brettbrett88 as an example ... excited newbie jumping right in, with both feet, into the icy cold, deep waters! Cheers! July and August will be here before long, so reserve your dates today! (Okay, well, soon ... just send me and Chief a PM!) Yay game threads!
  5. I 'tweaked' my kitchen about a year ago. It wasn't a full remodel ... I added some cabinets, changed the flooring, added a backsplash, added some tile to the undercounter area where the counter stools are, and changed the lighting a bit. I didn't change the counters, sink or appliances. Your wanted reward wouldn't have quite covered it. The custom cabinets and installation was slightly more than half the cost. And my kitchen is not large. It's a small, galley-style kitchen in a condo. I don't have a before for comparison, but here's the mostly done shot, which doesn't show any of the beautiful tiling.
  6. Excellent summary. It is a conundrum what to do when your current best trade asset is also the thing you currently need most.
  7. With Santana and Berrios pitching games 1,2-6,7, yes, I could see a deep playoff run. And as long as there was a competent bp, maybe we could get another win in there. However, getting to the playoffs requires more than a 1-2 punch in starting pitching. But without Santana there is no hope of either. As the team stands now, we need him to get us there.
  8. Thanks for the heads up. I adjusted the lineup to reflect the change.
  9. Yeah, I don't think we actually need to see those. The use of them is just so tasteless. I rest my case.
  10. What a dumb email address ... I mean, who puts a 1 in the middle of all those exclamation points?
  11. Well, yeah ... but she could ask for help ... Van, what's her email and/or number at work? <totally serene look of innocence>
  12. You know she's going to get you back, two fold.
  13. I'm really not that much of a hot dog eater except for occasionally at a game. But I have had a chili dog with cheese in my past. It was okay. All depends on how good the chili is and the quality of hot dog.
  14. Wrapped in sticky rice topped with some roe. Yeah, that works. (And if we had a vomit emoji, I'd put it here.)
  15. And not that spicy brown stuff, either ... regular yellow mustard, as God intended!
  16. No ... the only answer is mustard and chopped onion, the only exception being to leave off the onion
  17. As opposed to bright green relish, wedges of tomato, chopped white onion, a dill pickle spear, pickled sport peppers and celery salt? Yeah ... no comment. I can't throw stones at what Seattle does with their hot dogs.
  18. Please move on from the tangent of a typo/autocorrect and discuss the article itself. Thank you.
  19. Thank you. And for all, I corrected the auto correct, which is something I do too often for myself.
