  1. Recently saw ‘Yesterday’ and ‘Rocketman’. Nice to be reminded of genius and just how many, many songs were a part of my life.
  2. I’m not sure why you think people here are sheep, let alone it’s not very respectful to call us that. I think most people here prior to the season and all through this season so far have been disappointed more wasn’t/hasn’t been done to sign better pitching; and surprised, happily so, we’ve done as well as we have, knowing that it is well above expectations. I think the majority have acknowledged to win in the playoffs we will need better pitching. Most of the current threads here even discuss the need for better pitching. And the ‘la la land’ comment, not sure what that means, either, other than it being a bit of a slight to posters who have enjoyed the season so far. One can enjoy winning and be hopeful of the future at the same time acknowledge our warts and that it’s above where this team really is. Maybe a small number of people think we can get through and get by with what we have ... their right to have that opinion without being referred to as sheep .., even while most of us think otherwise.
  3. And I was happily reading this thread, thinking the Twins won all through last night.
  4. Thank you all for putting this whole series together. As one who spends time in Fort Myers, it's fun going to the games and telling my Mom a little about who is who, something I owe completely to this site and the hard work all of you guys do reporting on the minor leagues and the prospects.
  5. Yeah. I’m fine with spending prospects but if we are talking about two of our best prospects, that wouldn’t be for Syndergaard imo
  6. Well, so much for seeing Sano hot against Giolito. Maybe he’ll come in off the bench. Actually, I hope that isn’t necessary.
  7. I'm willing to trade one of those in a deal for Syndegaard ... but not two of those. I'd do two of those for someone else named Scherzer, but the Nats aren't dealing him for anyone.
  8. This what I said above. I don't think it's a matter of knowing what to and not to swing at. That doesn't seem to be the issue ... which is why I suggested something so stupidly simplistic as 'maybe he needs glasses.' He's not making contact. Maybe he's closing his eyes when he swings? Yeah, more simplisticly stupid. I just don't know. However ... if what's been happening over this weekend continues, then yeah, they obviously worked on something, or something is finally clicking after missing a few months. But what Brock said above ... I want to see this over a prolonged period of time ... not just against a team like the White Sox. Let's see how he handles Giolito today.
  9. I don’t think the poster was suggesting that Sano should or will play in that many games ... was just pointing out that he’s hitting homeruns and the ratio to games played is pretty good. If he keeps it up.
  10. Oh yay! Glad I heard wrong! We need these two back in the lineup.
  11. Someone said in another thread that he had heard they were going to give him a rehab assignment and that we may not see him before the ASB. But that is from an old woman’s recollection ... anyone else recall this? I hate losing to the White Sox. Just hate it. But the Sox aren’t the Orioles, so season sweeping them was never going to be a reality. Still, I hope we take the next two. And the errors ... ugh, please stop, Twins. I might be inclined to give Adrianza a tiny, little bit of leeway his first game back for one error, but not two. Get it together, Twins.
  12. Anyone going to the games in Chicago? Sadly, I’m out of town... maybe next time.
  13. I wonder if he needs glasses. But that is so simplistic, I’m sure that’s already been examined. It’s like he knows what to swing at and not, but just isn’t connecting and hitting. I mean he’s not just swinging at everything, so what is it? As soon as Gonzalez and/or Adrianza are ready, I think it’s time to send Miguel to Rochester.
  14. I just think that people who vote will go down the list and see ‘Minnesota Twins’ and vote for someone else. It’s not about deserving. And yes, I’m that cynical.
  15. Best chance? I’ll say ‘none of the above.’ None of them will win the final vote.
  16. Right. I don’t see him as a potential trade target, more like a pipe dream trade target. He’d be nice to get, but I don’t think it’s an attainable or realistic target.
  17. He could also be trying to try and bolster his team after a tough loss because we have another one to play today.
  18. I'm not gonna get down on Garver at all for this game. Not one iota. 17 innings behind the plate, and our pitchers did what? Garver deserves praise, even if he did get picked off third.
  19. I was going to quote you with a link ... but decided to keep it in the game thread
