    Okay … just did a google and came up with this … WCCO, ch4 (CBS) KSTP, ch5 (NBC) WTCN, ch11 (ind.) KTCA, ch2 (PBS) KTCI, ch17 (PBS? Out of WI maybe?) Not sure when and where ABC came in but they must’ve been ch7

    Yep. I think there might have been a 2nd independent. Can’t remember the one Casey Jones was on. Thought 11, that being the independent and 9 being ABC? and for some reason I think there was a 13? Later on I remember a ch. 23. Too long ago

    Back in the early 60s my home town was a test community for cable. Because of the bluffs you could barely , fuzzily, get one channel. So, we had cable in order to get the channels out of the Twin Cities. I think we had cable with a total of 7 channels

    I think they have a decent team. And I think if the injuries can stay minimal, they have a shot. That’s about as much prognosticating I can muster. Ask me in October. 🙂

    Satire isn’t always meant to be comedic. It can be but if you reread the definition there is an ‘or’ in there. I think poking at some posters’ ridiculousness is warranted and I, personally, got a chuckle out of it. But yes, I think RS is genius at comedic satire. But not all satire is comedic.

    @Brock Beauchamp … could have a series of preseason polls that cut off that we can revisit at the end of season, i.e. which starting pitcher will win the most? Which starting pitcher will have the best stats? Which reliever will have the most saves? Etc. and can do something similar for players.

    I get that. But if it’s so obvious to you watching from the TV it should be more than obvious to those involved first hand. It could be that Paddock was just missing, not that the umps were wrong in this case. We all like to believe that our team is always victims of nefarious umpires

    I agree the bats need to be more consistent, but they have had some good offensive games this spring, too. Just hope it’s more of that than the other come the season, but not every game is going to be an offensive boon. And good for them for converting Boston’s mishaps into runs. Thats what they should do.

    I mean, Baldelli can be and should be faulted for many things but Miranda’s health isn’t one of them. That’s a very long reach, at best. And I pretty agree with what chpettit said above. I think Miranda was already a lock but it’s the others battling for two spots. If I had to choose today, I don’t know if I could. I’d probably take Lee and Kiersey… but that could change depending on the rest of ST

    Good summation. That and Chief’s comment way back in the beginning … if we trade Vázquez then the forum topic becomes ‘The Twins need a catcher’

    When you are talking about the 26th man, I think you want versatility. Plus Castro is a switch hitter. Now, if you want to add Kiersey instead of Julien, leaving Castro at 2nd, I’m not opposed.

    I’m just not convinced. I was always holding my breath with him. And his spring hasn’t been great but it’s spring. And with others out and given his season last year, they take him north. But I’m still not convinced he’s not more than AAAA depth
