  1. The Rocco comment gets an eyeroll from me, but I get that he’s the scapegoat for everything like not stealing is his philosophy or something. I think you’ll see more base stealing this year in MLB as a whole because of the larger bases. It’s one of the reasons (I think) the Twins signed Vázquez and I think why Molitor is in camp to work on that and why there is more speed on the team.
  2. I’ll add that both pitchers had minor leaguers behind them and especially with Sands, there were some costly misplays in the outfield. But I honestly do not take this as anything. And Alcala missed a lot of time last year so is likely finding a groove again
  3. Gordon was playing at a different game. It was a split squad day. Correa was not scheduled to play in either. Farmer started at SS at the game in Fort Myers. I think our depth is fine.
  4. Ah! That’s what happened … without an announcer to say what was happening, it was a bit confusing
  5. I think it’s a good plan given the roster so far as it looks this year. Maybe they are onto something when they don’t have that specific of a role player like Cruz. I think it’s a good way to utilize the bench so no one gets too cold. Not sure how far into the season we go to see if it’s working or not. Thanks for the SSS research. Interesting.
  6. I spent the last three days over at Lee County Sport Complex wandering, watching, taking in my fill. While I don’t have many specifics to add, I thought I’d just do one big photo and video dump. I tried to get variety and as many different players that I could. These were all taken on my phone, and yeah, I’m not a photographer or videographer, which will become obvious. And I don’t apologize for it one iota. I tried to label what I could and what I remembered. 🙂 Field adjacent to the stadium, waiting for players to start their day. Autograph hounds waiting to get players to sign all the stuff they brought with them. Set up ready for warm ups. The infield only field, named for TK. The stadium, looking toward the infield. 7. I like the rotating DH … it will allow for greater flexibility for match ups and rest days. I’ve always thought having a DH is a wasted clog on the 26-man … one player who does nothing else but hit in the 3 or 4 spot but never plays in the field.
  8. I found it interesting what Farmer said about how the Twins had tech stuff to help evaluate that the Reds didn’t have. And Gray makes me excited … let’s win! I also found it interesting who has corner lockers. I guess that’s a big deal.
  9. What does this mean? That Correa is telling the FO who stays and who goes and who should be signed?
  10. Didn’t see it officially announced anywhere, but I see that Paddack is now on the 60-day IL which makes room for Solano
  11. I saw Gallo taking some practice at first yesterday. (At least pretty sure it was him.)
  12. I think they are more concerned about Polanco at this point, but could be both. I’ve gotta think someone is traded at this point.
  13. I'll preface this question with I'm more of a 'feels' person. I know that ST is just an exciting time ... players getting back into it, they are with their teammates again, it's the fun moment where so much is possible. But do you discern a different attitude coming in this year? I saw quotes online about Buxton talking about getting that ring, Correa's leadership, Max's 'zen-like' approach, people excited ... is there a 'click' to this year, more so than other years? Or maybe a different mindset? Or is this all just 'It's the start of ST and everyone is just hyped up'? And maybe considering last year, and previous years with the pandemic, this year is the most 'normal' they've had in several years.
  14. He didn’t spend significant time on the IL last year, wasn’t injured at the end of last season, so I see no need for an update at this point
  15. Thanks, John! This time of year, I like everything and anything I hear and am just giddy.
  16. We’ve seen comments here and there that Kirilloff is swinging freely … from what you see so far, is the optimism real?
  17. Yes ... when ST opens, which is the first day of 'pitchers and catchers' is when teams can put players on the 60-day IL
  18. I know position players like getting there early even though official report day for them isn’t until next week, but who isn’t there yet?
  19. Can’t wait! I’ll be there next week, yippee!
  20. No, it’s tomorrow. Players can be put on the 60-day when pitchers and catchers report as that’s the first official day of ST

  23. They were fun and clever … and I had fun reading them!
  24. Stop it ... this is about how he pitches. If he's good who cares about his last name. Find another forum to complain about this non-issue.
