  1. Is it Thursday yet?

      Unfortunately not

And now you've got to wait until Friday!

  2. Yeah, not sure ... Godoy's been DFA'd, not released, so, unless someone claims him (or has he already passed through waivers? @Otto von Ballpark), he will play somewhere in the system. If not at AAA, with Cisco (and who else is there?), then AA?
  3. So, does this signal that the Twins will carry 3 catchers, and Godoy won’t be in St. Paul? EDIT: Godoy was DFA’d today so … only 2 catchers heading north?
  4. For those with a justifiable irrational fear of Cave … good news .,, at least to start the season …
  5. Heh ... not really ... I still don't get the comparison other than there was disappointment involved, but we'll leave it at that and just say 'No' to 3 catchers
  6. Okay ... first off ... Garcia? You mean Sanchez? Second off, it is not a comparable disappointment at all. You had a say and you had a choice, you didn't speak up. We literally have no say in what the Twins FO does and the roster choices they make. None. We can express our thoughts here, we can be disappointed, irate even, or shrug and say 'Out of my control so whatever' ... our choice is whether or not we choose to continue watching or following ... but we have absolutely no control over whether or not there will be 3 catchers on the team. Where you go to dinner, you have a say, you have a choice. It's just not the same. Maybe it's still disappointment, but you could have altered that outcome, so it's not comparable. And now we are off the beaten trail again. But, back to where this started ... I agree ... we don't need 3 catchers on the roster. Others have a different opinion on that assessment. But I'll sigh with resignation because it is what it is because I have absolutely no control over it.
  7. My point wasn’t clear but as I said, it’s a matter of perspective
  8. I fixed it ... but someone else will just ignore that or find another workaround ... yes
  9. What would be worse ... and you can't say 'yes' (or an equivalent of yes) as an answer ... but what would be worse: A season full of ifs that didn't pan out? -0R- A season NOT full of ifs that didn't pan out? Okay, I'm not saying it's better to have a lot of ifs, because it's not, but I think spoiled expectations is worse. Maybe. Losing regardless is worse, but, just trying on my 'a little perspective' glasses. Don't really like them, but, it might get me through the season.
  10. So, you're saying that these things aren't as iffy as some think?
  11. If Sanchez is being used as the primary DH, then I can sort of but not really but sort of if I squint, look the other way and say we've got 2 catchers and a DH. But, like you, I still don't like that plan. Sano will be DHing, Arraez will be DHing, Kirilloff could be DHing, others could DH when a break is needed on the field, so, Sanchez as the primary DH won't really be primarily a DH and then it's 3 catchers. I've never liked 3 catchers on a roster. It's a wasted space, imo. But ... I guess we will see. You know me ... none of these decisions are within my control, so while I have my thoughts on the matter, it will be what it will be. And I'll be watching baseball, win or lose. (Well, okay, if there is more of the latter, I will likely be watching less baseball.)
  12. I said none of that. Nor was my comment at all in that vein.
  13. Kepler will be fine in CF for an occasional day, so will Gordon, when Bux needs a day off. If Buxton goes on the IL, Celestino gets called up. I want Celestino playing every day so he's ready to fill in when he's called on to do so.
  14. Concur. However - I will be okay-ish if 3 come north when the roster is at 28; but definitely will not be okay with 3 when the roster is trimmed to 26
  15. Why do we need 3 catchers? My assumption is that Godoy goes to St. Paul and comes up if either Jeffers or Sanchez hit the IL. Are we back to the Gardy days of filling a bench position with an extra catcher?
  16. Yes, he's already passed his medicals and is already in camp
  17. It would probably get abused on here, much like a very small number of people abuse/misuse the reactions for trolling purposes
  18. Small correction ... he's not on the 60-day ... he is expected to start pitching in early May, I think I read ... likely in Wichita. But the rest of your post stands
