  2. The Gasper to Bride move inspires me to go out and buy tickets to a game....I'm being facetious by the way.
  3. Let's go Twins!!! Leaving work early with some friends to settle in at our favorite bar to watch some baseball... I can't wait!
  4. I don't think you will see many big moves by the Minnesota Twins this offseason. Every business owner who considers selling will always window-dress their financials to make it look more lucrative to a potential buyer. The Pohlads will certainly do this as well. What will the Pohlads do to get the most value for their team in a potential sale? They will want to show good profits, growth, etc. It's hard to say what type of window dressing they will do with their financials but you typically do that by growing sales, growing profit margins, decreasing expenses, or sometimes all of the above. The Twins ownership would have to make a helluva off-season splash to get a massive increase in TV subscriptions or season ticket sales to increase revenue. In the short term, I don't see that happening. I suspect the most logical outcome will be ownership, reducing expenses to increase profit margins, not making any radical moves, and selling the team at the highest price they can get. Translation to all of this: I'm very skeptical there will be any big off-season moves.
  5. Interesting article, you could have wrote the buying prospectus! If the majority of Twins Daily members were qualified investors I'd say let's buy the team!!
  6. In all seriousness, if the Twins make the playoffs they will be blown out. They will be lucky to get through game two. I saw what this team was doing 4 weeks ago and knew the outcome. I really hope this post doesn't age well but I really doubt that will happen...so many issues to fix... I got an email from the Senior VP of Twins ticket sales last week. Espousing what a great value and fun having a suite or season tickets would do for my company...I should post what I told him...
  7. I've said this before and will say it again. I really don't care if they win the division or not. The wild card system has made winning the division a somewhat moot objective. Over the last 10-15 years, the teams that win the World Series go into the playoffs with spirit and momentum. The Twins have neither. If they make the wild card I have almost zero faith they have the stamina, excitement or drive to last longer than a few games. As a Twins fan and baseball fan for almost 40 years, I just don't see the swagger or confidence in this team at all. Sorry if that sounds negative but just sayin' what I'm seein'...
  8. I always wondered why Harper did'nt get more credit for his talents...Great catcher and awesome hitter! Thanks for the article. Well done!
  9. I don't really care if the Twins overtake Cleveland or not. I only want 3 things: 1. Twins make the playoffs (wildcard is fine by me) 2. Twins get blistering hot in the playoffs 3. Twins win the World Series It seems to me over the last 10-15 years the best teams in MLB rarely win the World Series anymore. Just the teams that get hot during the playoffs...
  10. I'll be at the game tonight. First actual game I'll have seen all year because of the TV BS (radio only guy these days). Hopefully we can pull off a win!
  11. Great point. I'm a cord cutter and lost. You say I won but MLB and and the Minnesota Twins lost too. Hang in there long enough Chief and you'll eventually lose too. Be grateful you are out of market so you can watch on MLB.com. Eventually someone with a brain will figure out a solution so more eye balls are able to watch this sport before it goes the way of broadcast TV, local/national newspapers and movie theaters. Cable will go by the wayside just like Ma Bell and rotary phones. How many peoiple still have a home phone line? Why pay for crap you dont need?
  12. MLB is has a real cluster %$&! on their hands. I've completely quit watching the Twins on TV. First time in my 52 years. I'll listen on the radio and read box scores or hit Twins Daily. Such stupidity on so many levels it boggles the mind. I cut the cord years ago and decided to try FUBO last year that worked well but $79.00 a month to just watch the Twins, forget it... I tried MLB as well and that didn't work because of the local blackout. I could have used a VPN but that seems like stealing and won't do that either. Good luck to MLB and the Minnesota Twins. If a lifelong "rabid" Twins fan is mad and not watching what about the fair weather fans and younger kids???? Oh, almost forgot. If the Twins won't invest in their team (2024 payroll), why in the hell would I invest my time and money to watch that product? (10 game winning streak included).
  13. These injuries make me crazy, especially to our core group of guys. Makes me appreciate the Lou Gehreg and Cal Ripken feats even more....
  14. Got two legs of lamb ready to roast this afternoon in preparation for Twins victory #3 this year....Chicken is so overrated for victory dinners... Happy Easter everyone! Go Twins!
  15. Royce will get over this quickly. Quad injuries can heal quickly. I'm guessing he will be back in the lineup in another week or so. Look, I'm not a doctor but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night....
  16. Happy opening day everyone! Looking forward to a great 2024 and a WS ring to boot! Can't wait to watch Lopez hurl some heat today.... Go Twins!
  17. During the regular season this post would make me laugh but during the playoffs not so much. My teeth are purple from all the red wine I'm swilling right now. Stress drinking...
  18. Thanks Stringer! Got some nice reds rolling right now. It's 12:36am in Bordeaux but having a great time cheering my home team to a victory tonight.
  19. I think they do! This team has something special going on... Cue a little Marvin Gaye....Kinda has a wedding theme to it too...:)
  20. You can come up to Minneapolis for a few games during the World Series. A lot more fun than France!
