  1. A player burns an option year when they spend a 20th day on optional assignment. 19 or less days would not burn a year. The 20 days do not have to be consecutive but the standard for a batter is 10 days and a pitcher 15 days before being able to be recalled, unless an injury (or leave) to a player on the active roster.
  2. Since teams are allowed to sign free agents, they absolutely can DFA players, but not any of the players added to the 40 man to keep them from the rule 5 draft.
  3. MLB has not approved them yet. That is why we don't know who they are.
  4. Pablo Lopez to NYM for a package that includes SP Jonah Tong and C Chris Suero. Neither starts the year in MLB. Luis Arraez comes back on a one year deal in attempt to please fans. Luke Maile signed to be backup catcher, or another vet at the same money. Not really much to pick from though. I'd take Vazquez back at this price or a little more instead. RP Justin Wilson and Liam Hendricks signed, with Liam getting incentives to make his contract worth up to $5M. Not much will get done here. A payroll under $90M is very likely, and if you don't have Arraez like I do here it could be around $70M. C: Ryan Jeffers ($6.60M) 1B: Luis Arraez ($12.00M) 2B: Luke Keaschall ($0.80M) 3B: Royce Lewis ($3.00M) SS: Brooks Lee ($0.80M) LF: Walker Jenkins ($0.80M) CF: Byron Buxton ($15.00M) RF: Matt Wallner ($0.80M) DH: Trevor Larnach ($4.70M) 4th OF: Alan Roden ($0.80M) Utility: Austin Martin ($0.80M) Utility: Kody Clemens ($1.12M) Backup C: Luke Maile ($0.97M) POS: Add Dead Money Here ($0.00M) SP1: Joe Ryan ($5.80M) SP2: Bailey Ober ($4.60M) SP3: Simeon Woods-Richardson ($0.80M) SP4: Zebby Matthews ($0.80M) SP5: Mick Abel ($0.80M) RP: Liam Hendricks ($5.00M) RP: Kody Funderburk ($0.80M) RP: Cole Sands ($1.30M) RP: Pierson Ohl ($0.80M) RP: Travis Adams ($0.80M) RP: David Festa ($0.80M) RP: Justin Wilson ($1.50M) RP: Taj Bradley ($0.80M) POS: Add Dead Money Here ($0.00M) Payroll is 33.83% under budget
  5. Both of the free agent lists that are linked to go to the DiamondCentric site and are not found.
  6. Nate Dahmann also not returning.
  7. Taj Bradley isn't listed under internal options. He's the one omission I think should be listed but there are others. Mackenzie Gore is listed twice under trade candidates.
  8. Hank Conger will not be back.
  9. We do not know the status of the coaches from the end of the 2025 season but per Bobby Nightengale on Bluesky the new bullpen coach is LaTroy Hawkins.
  10. Well Lawyerson is gone now so there is one open spot.
  11. I would think all coaches have been given the option to look elsewhere since a new manager was hired. I do want Maki to stay.
  12. He wasn't on the roster for the first 2 series, and they played the hot players the rest of the series. PH in game 3 and ended up going 1-3 and also an 0-1 in game 4.
  13. The eye test i used definitely thought he deserved to be in the running.
  14. Charley Walters says Hunter and Falvey had informal talks last week, and that Hunter already has his staff he wants were he to get a manager job. Charley also said hunter is interested.
  15. It came out a day or 2 ago that he was out.
  16. I did not have the issue on TD, but I had a major issue with ESPN last week on my PC that stopped after it was recommended to me to toggle off hardware acceleration. It happened right after chrome and windows updated so I think both of those updates had faults. Could be related to the blinking issue here or I could be babbling about nothing.
  17. He was bad the last 2 months of the regular season but the last 2 games he was as good of a closer as we saw in baseball this year.
  18. Looking at The Athletic article from Gleeman and Hayes he went from $350k to $750k at LSU as pitching coach. Anybody would have been a fool to say no to over double salary, and it is correct that the job would not have been available after the Twins season ended. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/3385007/2022/06/26/twins-lsu-wes-johnson/ I was very mad at him at first but when I saw that info I changed my mindset on it and realized he had to do it.
  19. Not on the hitting side but a name that just popped in my mind is Wes Johnson.
  20. Madden would cost more than just about any manager available.
  21. He was a coach for the Padres this year.
