  1. If Joe can notch multiple Gold Gloves at first base and then sneak an outlier productive offensive season, those things would greatly improve his HOF chances. Joe is making quite a case for the Twins to re-sign him at the end of the monster contract.
  2. The Twins should have Sid spearhead the campaign.
  3. This is one of the many reasons to love baseball: inning reconstruction.
  4. A nice first step to a playoff push is to complete the four game sweep against the Brewers.
  5. Yes, it is ok to be excited. Also, it is wise to have realistic expectations.
  6. If a team can get into the postseason anything can happen. Let's get the second Wild Card spot and then see how far we can ride Santana, Berrios, and Colon. Stranger things have happened than those three having postseason success.
  7. It has been a tough season with injuries so a playoff berth would be rewarding.
  8. The Saints need to have a lot of Hamburger Helper to make the playoffs.
  9. The Saints need to have a lot of Hamburger Helper to make the playoffs.
  10. The thinking was so different 12 years ago. I can remember being impressed beyond belief when a guy posted 20 victories. I have to admit that if I hadn't lived in the Twin Cities in 2005 then I most likely would have voted for Colon.
  11. Colon pitching on Tuesday reeks of desperation. Maybe the Boy Wonders know what they are doing and Colon will be a surprise and help the Twins. I am skeptical.
  12. There are similarities between this core four and the group from the 1980s that actually won a few titles. The next 5+ years could be really exciting in Twins territory.
  13. The Saints need to win the 2017 American Association championship and get a banner flying at CHS. After 2015 and 2016, maybe 2017 is third time is the charm.
  14. A split of this weekend series would be a relief.
  15. At this rate, our Twins might be in last place by the end of the week. It is hard to imagine a victory right now unless Berrios or Santana pitch lights out. Cleveland looks playoff ready again.
  16. I don't like being negative guy, however the first place standing as of today seems more of a function of previous work done by TR and company along with TR's players performing. I guess you are right and we must continue to be patient and let the new front office guys work any magic they might have. Count me a fan of Falvey/Levine -it's just that looking at the free agency (lack of moves), spring training, and now the draft I am not seeing much difference between them and the TR regime. Maybe I entered the Falvey/Levine era expecting shock and awe from and need to be patient as they slowly build. I guess I will enjoy the first place ride so far this season and trust the process on the rest.
  17. When does the new front office stop getting the benefit of the doubt?
  18. A sweep of the Giants has been ordered from this Twins guy who also bleeds Dodger Blue.
  19. What's the dirtiest line delivered on television that wasn't censured? ... forget it, someone beat me to the punch...
  20. The Tepesch start was an abomination, trust me I abused myself and sat through the entire thing and still feel sick thinking about it.
  21. You might be able to remove Smalley from the record books, but he will always remain in our hearts ... and on our TVs boring us to death with his commentary. It will be nice to see a team not from the AL Central for a few days to keep things fresh.
  22. If you have a family then the Saints are a better option. There are things for the children to see and do at CHS - Target Field there is not really anything family friendly. Yes, I wish both Target Field and CHS would sell out ever night. I just cannot blame families and casual fans for choosing CHS. My children don't care if Miguel Sano is batting or the retread AAAA former Twin that the Saints just signed.
  23. CHS stands for Cenex Harvest States. They are a Fortune 100 company that endorses the stadium. I think Cenex and Harvest States merged about 15 years ago. It's a great stadium, the next time you are in Minneapolis for a Twins game try to catch a Saints game at CHS.
  24. It should another fun season at CHS Field and the Saints are definitely a favorite for the AA championship. The roster changes are important in this league. Sometimes successful AA players catch on with a big league organization - great for the player, tough break for the organization. The Saints are really all about the fun - as a fan you should not get too focused on outcome for this league.
