  1. No way we are going to lose the Cave/Gil trade. He's pitched 3 games of A+ ball?
  2. You don't trade him because of his versatility. You can plug a top prospect into 3 or 4 positions. Further, you don't sell low.
  3. One thing we can count on, if we don't win the final game, some of our members will consider the season a failure.
  4. The Turtle is a board favorite, Cave is a board scapegoat. The scapegoats always outperform the favorites on TD.
  5. If Buxton goes down for an extended period of time, don't be surprised if we see Lewis.
  6. His versatility should keep him #1. Falvey values depth. With Lewis we can move a top prospect to 3 or 4 different positions.
  7. We may never know until the book comes out. What we do know is, one of the 3 or 4 teams will the most starting pitching prospects, found a willing partner in the land of the cattle and the wheat and the folks that can't be beat.
  8. We were not going to shove our excess down LA's throat. Nor were we going to walk away from exactly what we wanted and needed.
  9. Our favorite team has done a solid job at trading for talent. At the 2018 trade deadline alone, we picked up 4 starting pitching prospects and Alcala. I understand members buried in the past, as I do the ever present Impatient Brigade. Going forward, things can't look much better.
  10. Can we get a list of players with waaaaaaaaay too much talent who have gone away quickly?
  11. It's a matter of time until we win the Pressly trade. Just to be consistent, let's remember to judge the Graterol trade less than a year later. Also, Nick Anderson is Falvey's David Ortiz.
  12. Exactly! It's not mandatory to have an ace to win a ring.
  13. Agree. Few thought we would fine ourselves in this position several years ago.
  14. Back in the days of yore, I saw greatness in Matt Kinney. No doubt in my mind he was a better prospect than Johann. There is a very good reason why the search committee didn't pick one of the 11,000+ members here on TD.
  15. I thought Ryu, who I refer to as The Titanic, was the worst free agency signing this offseason.
  16. Great article Nick! Couldn't agree more.
  17. Falvey let the Dodgers know at the Winter Meetings we had some interest in Maeda. Boston wanted Graterol and advised the Dodgers of this. Yada, Yada, Yada. We have the solid #3 we need and 10M in the bank to spend w/o our benevolent owners approval. Time to step off the ledge.
  18. They didn't wisely offer a position player because that's not what their trade partner wanted.
  19. Get ready to be quite depressed. We won't have 2 great internal options until 2022.
  20. Agree. I'm looking for him to stick in 2022. Also, I'm starting to think Enlow will be the one to follow.
  21. Every mid-market team except yours, needs to rebuild at some point in time. Due to our past successes, being continuously in poor draft position caught up with us.
  22. Agree. May can be replaced internally if need be. Hoping Cruz earns a 1 year extension. Ìf he has another solid year, I like Odorizzi for 3 years at 75M.
  23. I would love to see Almost Everyday Eduardo back!
