  1. The only way Jenkins makes the opening day lineup is if an extension is agreed to. Otherwise he’ll be up the same day he gains another year of control in early May. Agreed on Prielipp. I was hoping he was going to be one of our call ups this year so we would have an answer in the bullpen for 2026.
  2. Giants already in desperation mode to save their jobs.
  3. I would put the percent chance at 99% that Joe Ryan demands a trade out of here this winter. It's abundantly clear he is unhappy and doesn't want to waste his prime years on a bottom feeding team like the Twins. There will be plenty of interested teams besides Boston
  4. I don’t see much of a difference being the worst team in the league and the 4th worst team in the league like we currently are.
  5. I'll give you that. The playcalling was better yesterday for sure. I hope McCarthy was taking notes to get rid of the ball quickly like Wentz was doing. Plus his athleticism is going to be light years better than Wentz after multiple knee surgeries. For now I am in no rush to bring back JJ. Mackey said this on their Purple Daily Vent Line yesterday and I agree completely. The blueprint for the 2025 Vikings winning games is this, in this order: Suffocating defense, effective running game, passing as a compliment
  6. This game has been awesome to watch
  7. McCarthy is in a much different situation than anyone else in his draft class. Williams and Maye were 1 year older than JJ, and getting reps for teams that have no expectation of winning. Jayden Daniels was a 23 year old draftee 5th year senior. Bo Nix and Michael Penix were 24/25 years old with 6+ years of college experience under their belt. They should be playing right now
  8. Where I disagree is forcing him to play if he's not ready. Green Bay hasn't had a QB problem in 30+ years, and a huge reason why is being patient with their young QBs. Love and Rodgers both sat for 3 years and both seem to be doing pretty good.
  9. He’s 22 years old Mike.
  10. What? He had 3 horrible penalties on Sunday. And to answer your question Brandel is going to be the starting LG
  11. Wentz got rid of the ball quickly and efficiently. I think you’re really downplaying how bad McCarthy looked the first 2 games. The offense was awful for 7 out of the 8 quarters he played. He’s still just 22 years old. Could be a college senior at this point. There’s nothing wrong with saying he’s not ready to lead a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
  12. It’s a conundrum. McCarthy looked raw the first 2 weeks and needs reps to improve. But the rest of our roster is built to win right now. It would be a disservice to the rest of the veterans if we jeopardize our playoff chance to develop a rookie QB. As long as we keep winning with Wentz and he’s taking care of the football, I’d give the nod to him over McCarthy. The kid just isn’t ready for the bright lights.
  13. We will see if he’s not getting interviews this winter. 1 year off isn’t a big deal.
  14. Royce has been frustrating to cheer on the last 2 years with his off-putting quotes. He comes across as a me-first type of player. I was pretty turned off last year when he had the gall to blame last year’s collapse on the veteran players - lumping him in with the “cheap players”. Along with not willing to play 2B when the team was decimated with injuries. Now this year he said he didn’t want to change his (failing) approach earlier in the season because it could affect his arbitration number. Idk man, doesn’t sound like a star in the making to me.
  15. The staleness of this organization goes back years... I would argue since the late season collapse in 2022. We've been watching the same trainwreck for 5 years. And all we've done to address the root cause of the problem is fire the athletic trainer, and firing hitting coaches. Marginal stuff to make it look like they're doing something different. Same thing with the roster. We have played it out seeing if the core of players mentioned in the article could improve, and they have not.
  16. Turns out Levine was the smartest person in the room and left this mess of an organization before his reputation was tarnished.
  17. Internal choice: Brian Dinkelman External choice: If I knew the correct answer, I'd be getting paid a 7 figure salary in MLB. I would be no different than looking at the media guides of successful teams. Hey, that's how we hired Derek Falvey!
  18. It’s why I always put Falvey first in my statements to fire Twins employees. Job titles are fickle in baseball, but I’m pretty confident Falvey is top 5-8 ranked in tenure for architects of baseball rosters. Cashman (1998), Mozeliak (2007), Preller and Friedman (2014) are the ones I’ve seen in searches that have been in charge longer than Falvey (Nov 2016). Plans change all the time. Falvey was chosen to lead the Twins in transition between ownership groups, but that doesn’t need to continue now that the Pohlads aren’t selling. Clearly he’s doing a very poor job running the business side of the Twins. He’s doing just as poorly managing the talent on the baseball side.
  19. It’s a shame Falvey and Co decided that they didn’t want to expose additional minor league talent to this disaster. They chose to waste these opportunities and innings on players who have no future in the organization. Now we head into the offseason with question marks everywhere. The bullpen is Sands, maybe Funderburk, and shrug emoji. Lineup is a complete mess. Rotation has names, but no confidence to write in #3-5. It’s time for a new era. Fire Falvey, and fire Baldelli.
  20. Brosmer time!
  21. I can’t remember the last time we blew out a team this bad at halftime
  22. Defense is playing unreal today. My god
  23. dumb penalties and sacks is keeping this from being a complete blowout
  24. Holy cow that was a 5 min delay
  25. First virtual measurement of the season for us?
