  1. 38 as a full time DH I want to see before giving up on him... 9 and 47 yep, let them be some other team's problem.
  2. Concur. I think Lopez is better prepared mentally to lead a team after it bottoms out. Joe doesn't give the impression of wanting to be a leader. He wants to contribute on good teams.
  3. I know this has been hashed to death so far... My prediction is Joe Ryan traded and Pablo Lopez stays to lead us out of the depths of hell we're currently in.
  4. Abel wasn't given much of a chance even in a lost season. 1 start, 1 bullpen appearance then sending him back to AAA. Meanwhile we've given DFA castoffs like Brooks Kriske 12 appearances, Genesis Cabrera 10 appearances, Thomas Hatch 8 appearances, and Noah Davis 4 appearances with disastrous results.
  5. I don't think McCarthy was going to start whether healthy or hurt at any point last year after Darnold's hot start.
  6. We are 6+ weeks since the trade deadline and have come up with 0 answers in the bullpen for 2026. Wasting opportunities on guys who have 0 future here. Hopefully Lawyerson is a guy? But he should have been up on August 1 to find out.
  7. Feels like that’s an arbitration rule and not for a guy who’s entering free agency
  8. Correct. Should have been spending all of these opportunities since July 31st on fringe guys already in the system. Instead of wasting the opportunities on DFA castoffs
  9. Assuming below average defense, then .750 OPS is probably the bare minimum to be an overall positive to the roster. Even that might be too low. League average .721 OPS according to B-Ref.
  10. What do you mean by the term game? Something is happening tonight? I just saw Twilight Zone is back on Amazon Prime. Season 1 Episode 1’s title is my question.
  11. We’ve been abnormally healthy the last couple of years so it was bound to catch up to us.
  12. The empty seats behind home plate is a really bad look not just for the Twins, but MLB as a whole. My idea is everyone that scans their ticket into the ballpark is automatically entered into a lottery. If those seats are vacant by the top of the 3rd, then the lottery begins. Winners of the lottery are automatically upgraded to the fancy seats. They can do that every single home game and create memories people will cherish! It’s a gesture that costs the Twins $0 to implement.
  13. It sucks that Jerry Jones tilted the scales in the Packers' favor as NFC favorite. Gary and Parsons is the best edge rushing combo in the league now.
  14. Julien and Miranda are easy non-tenders. Good luck to them. Clemens and Outman I think will be kept as AAAA depth. SWR is gonna be on the MLB team in some capacity in 2026.
  15. It's a similar song and dance we had to do last time Kaprizov signed a contract. I'm not pressing the panic button yet...
  16. Simply put, you don’t trade away your top 5 relievers if you intend to compete the following year.
  17. I would hope Byron shared these thoughts with leadership prior to July 31st. Because the no more rebuild train left the station on that day.
  18. Soldier Field being treated by Chicago's Parks and Rec department is crazy... The Bears themselves is a $4-5 billion organization!
  19. So many arms wearing a Twins uniform this year that I have zero interest seeing them in a Twins uniform in 2026 and beyond. Not sure where I'd rank Ohl on the list of Twins pitchers this year.
  20. Also, the team formerly known as the Oakland A’s. Both of these teams have been nothing more than farm systems for the large market teams for a vast majority of my baseball fandom.
  21. Joe is going to have plenty of interest from teams this winter. 2 things that won’t surprise me at all: - He requests a trade out of Minnesota - He immediately signs a long term contract with the new team… just like Berrios did in Toronto.
  22. No kidding. We got an RB 1 for what, a 6th round pick? He's basically what the coaching staff dreamed Mattison would be, but Mason has so much more talent than he ever did. Other observations: - The demeanor and body language between McCarthy and Williams is night and day. McCarthy was bouncing around the sideline pumping up the OL and talking to KOC/McCown. Especially when it was rough going the first 3 quarters. Once the wheels were falling off for the Bears, Williams was pouting on the sideline not talking to anyone. - Rough first game for Ben Johnson as HC. Going for it on 4th down in the 1st quarter when they could have used the 3 points. Challenging the Hockenson down by contact play was bizarre.
  23. I mean, we're just as bad as the bad teams you mentioned and we want nothing to do with him anymore... I guess there's always a chance, but I think odds are very low another MLB signs him this winter.
  24. Average at best talent with a poor attitude isn't a recipe for MLB success. Why would another team give him an MiLB deal when their scouts see how much he pouts being in AAA? His next stop will be in a foreign league.
