  1. I’d trade up for Richardson and Stroud… Stick at 23 if Joey Porter Jr, Deonte Banks, or Nolan Smith are there Trade down any other scenario
  2. Happy draft day! Looking forward to seeing what we do tonight. Day of prediction… Kwesi keeps close tabs on Anthony Richardson. If he slides to the 16-18 range, we do a small trade up to get him. If the 4 QBs are gone, I’d say we end up trading out of the 1st round.
  3. Hopefully the Twins signed up for Uber rewards with the frequency they’re using the MLB/AAA shuttle this year.
  4. Rodgers sadly is the answer. Cousins isn’t gonna sell more tickets and get them more National TV games like Rodgers will. That being said, I still think the Jets overpaid big time for Rodgers. They put all of their eggs in one basket and had to do it out of desperation.
  5. Brock Stewart gets added to the 40 man and called up to the Twins. Here is an excerpt from MLBTradeRumors: The 2023 season has been a much different story thus far. He’s blitzed out of the gate with a 2.08 ERA and gaudy 48.6% strikeout rate in 8 2/3 innings, walking just 5.7% of his opponents. Stewart’s raw 17-to-2 K/BB ratio is intriguing, even in a small sample at the Triple-A level, particularly since he’s added considerable velocity in recent years. Stewart averaged 92.8 mph on his four-seamer during his 2016-19 run with Los Angeles and Toronto but has since moved to short relief stints and ramped that velocity into the upper 90s. In addition to that massive strikeout rate, he’s also sporting an enormous 22.1% swinging-strike rate in St. Paul.
  6. Turns into a 1st if Rodgers plays 65% of snaps in 2023…
  7. Yeah no one seems to know where the QBs are going to end up. Sounds like the Colts are on the Will Levis or bust bandwagon. The rest is anyone’s best guess. If Richardson slides to 23 that is likely his best outcome to hit his ceiling. If he has to play in the first year, I think that will have a disastrous outcome.
  8. This is how I envision Kwesi navigating the waters this week… Try like hell to trade up into the top 10 to lock in a QB of the future. If the first plan is too expensive to pull off, call San Francisco and get an agreement in place to trade Kirk for Lance + future pick considerations. If that can’t be done, see who is there at 23 (likely just Hooker left out of the 5 prospects) and debate whether they settle with that or not.
  9. Draft week! There is way too much smoke right now on the Vikings taking a QB early. Looking forward to seeing who the QB of the future is on Thursday or Friday.
  10. Gotta find a way to score more runs consistently. It really is that simple.
  11. 2 guys in the pen now that can go multiple innings for sure. I like the move so Alcala can reset himself in AAA. He’s been very spotty with the command.
  12. I guess it wasn’t fake. SWR up as well. Alcala to St Paul
  13. Polanco activated. Julien sent down. Edit: I think I was fooled by a fake Twitter account. Don’t see it officially reported by the usual team of Do, Gleeman, Betsy, and Dan Hayes.
  14. What would change putting Maeda in the pen? The dude is throwing 88. That’s not going to play anywhere in modern baseball.
  15. I think they’ll keep Nashville open as the expansion city when they add 2 more teams to the league. Is Montreal ready to support an MLB team full time again? Charlotte?
  16. There was ample time and opportunity to get something done in Oakland. I’m glad there is finally pressure being put on the organization to get out of that absolute dump of a stadium. Tampa Bay, you’re on the clock.
  17. Is Purdy going to play in 2023? I have no idea what the timeline is to throw a football vs. baseball (12-18 months) after Tommy John. The Kirk to San Fran rumor is so old it is attending Kindergarten in the fall. But maybe now the timeline lines up for it to make sense. San Fran has the roster to win a SB right now. Kirk could be their 1 year stop gap which allows Purdy to fully heal without rushing back. The timeline makes sense for the Vikings too. All we’re doing is running out the clock with Kirk and hoping for 10-11 wins. I wouldn’t mind taking the chance on Lance for a year. If he ends up being no good, then odds are we will have a high pick in 2024 to take a new QB.
  18. The LH vs LH matchup should have been thrown out of consideration when Moran couldn’t throw strikes. Then it should be ineffective vs. potentially effective to get the last out and live to fight for another inning.
  19. Baffling that Moran continued to pitch after Refsnyder grounded into the double play. He clearly didn’t have it tonight and Pagan was warming (warmed?) in the pen. 4 hits in 10 innings isn’t going to cut it. Neither is 3 errors in the field. The walk off is classic Fenway shenanigans.
  20. Haha, I hate to say it but I like that trade too. Though I don’t think the Lions will want to pay 3 1st round picks at the same time.
  21. For those on team #TradeDown here are some options to pursue… I like the potential trade with the Steelers for 32 and 49. The Chiefs would work too.
  22. This is excellent news! Lopez, Paddack, and Ryan locked in for multiple years with an extended MLB track record. Ober, Varland, SWR, and others waiting in the wings.
