It’s less about Alex Jackson the player, and more about using a valuable 26 man roster spot on a player that never played on a team that was supposedly trying to make the playoffs.

Festa should definitely be a bullpen only option with all of his injuries. Morris yeah he may not have the secondary pitches. I think the plan should be go to Driveline or whatever personal pitching coach he has and prep to be a starter over the offseason. We can always ramp him down to a reliever again during the season.

Not with our team lacking elite talent.
  4. Vanimal46
We could move Morris back to the rotation next year… I’m not ruling that out yet.

I hope Tom P has been paying attention. If I’m him, the first thing I’m doing is speaking to Shelton and asking if he ever intended on rotating Jackson in? If no, was it communicated to Zoll that the roster spot should be used by another player? Then I’m going to Zoll and asking why he prioritized a roster spot for a player who contributed so little to the team?

I understand keeping him thru the trade deadline in case if Jeffers was traded. I can understand keeping him if the idea was him as the backup in 2027. I didn’t like it, but I get it. Now all this proves is we kept a guy Shelton had zero intention of playing for 40+ games. The stated goal was being competitive in 2026.

Fair or not to Caleb Williams, people aren't going to let this down for a long time. People never forgot Paul Pierce being pushed off the NBA court in a wheelchair writing in pain, only to re-enter the same game for the Celtics.

No idea. But we essentially played with a 25 man roster the entire 2nd half when they were trying to compete for a playoff spot.
  9. Vanimal46
There had to be someone else that could provide more than 4 PAs off the bench since August 1st. What a slap in the face to the fans and the other 25 MLB players.

Zoll has to go. They punted a roster spot for 2 months only to let Alex Jackson go in the final week of the season? Incompetence at its finest.

You can’t make it up. Punting on a roster spot for 2 months. Fire Zoll.

People online are having a field day with the Caleb Williams cart video now that we know he just pulled his hamstring. Making jokes like “stubbed my toe on the bed frame” “legs fell asleep sitting on the toilet” and “paper cut on my dominant hand” He’s not gonna be able to escape that meme for several years.

If he's dealing with a shoulder issue, even more reason to give him an early vacation. I think you sniffed out the arrangement - Sabato up, Royce to IL, Buxton moved to the 60 day
  14. Vanimal46
I would give Royce Lewis an early vacation personally. It's pretty evident to me that Lewis is checked out on the season and has been for a while.
  15. Vanimal46
Good for him. He's worked hard and now he gets to relish being a major league ballplayer. I would give him Lewis' PAs the rest of the week.

Last week of the regular season... I am planning on going to either the Saturday or Sunday game (weather permitting) to experience 1 more live game before a very long offseason ahead of us.
  17. Vanimal46
Why? I can’t see him increasing his velocity back to 92+ when he was most effective making that change.
  18. Vanimal46
The Browns win the game. Wow
  19. Vanimal46
Our next week opponent Tampa Bay Bucs are losing to the lowly Cleveland Browns
  20. Vanimal46
Daniels is so lanky. That was always the concern when he was in the 2024 draft class. The NFL is too violent for a skinny guy like him
  21. Vanimal46
No question… I don’t miss Tommy Windmill Watkins one bit.
  22. Vanimal46
Awesome heads up play by our 3B coach to wave Ross home.
  23. Vanimal46
Ben Ross with a little league run!
  24. Vanimal46
Yeah I wish we could extend Turner now… the way he’s trending he’s going to cost a ton at the end of this season. I’ve gotta say I was very skeptical of the DL entering this season. Redmond needed to become the alpha leader of that group and he is. Banks also had a great game today

I wonder how much someone with the job title Senior Director - Team Travel makes in MLB? Negotiating planes, trains, and automobiles
