My bad for being 4 days off to disagree with my post. The 3 signings you’re probably thinking of: Nelson Cruz signed 12/27 (oops!) Josh Donaldson signed 1/22 Carlos Correa signed 1st time 3/15 2nd time 1/11. Like I said in the post you disagreed with, major signings happen in January or later. Thoughts? -
Falvey has shown time and time again he’s looking for the bargains in free agency. Early in the offseason is dedicated to waiver wire pickups and fringe 40 man roster acquisitions. If any major acquisitions are made it’s in January or later.

This is actually a classic Twins signing. A couple years removed from his last All-Star appearance nearing the end of his career. If he’s available in January I bet we will be in on a 1 year contract.

Thoughts while watching RedZone today… I don’t know how there isn’t a huge divide in the Browns locker room. Legal issues aside, Deshaun Watson is on a historically bad run at QB. Doug Pederson should get fired tomorrow. The Jaguars look like they’ve already quit on the season. The Saints are frauds. The Bears are also frauds. Charmin soft schedule so far for them.

I’m just happy we are finally talking about the poor billionaires out there. No one talks about the challenges Joe Pohlad faced being born a billionaire, obtaining an Associates degree in college, and running multiple media companies into the ground. It’s tough work out there.

I thought we were in for another 30 years of the Pohlads so I am thrilled at the possibility of someone else owning the team. We know who the Pohlads are. The vast majority of fans aren’t demanding the Twins to be a $200+ million payroll team. We’ve begged for them to take a shot during seasons where the stars align like 2019, 2009, etc. Maybe the new owners will actually care and go for it when the team looks like they could advance in the playoffs.

The clause at the Metrodome, ruled by a judge, is why the team isn’t contracted today. Those leases are pretty iron clad.

What small or mid market teams have been for sale in the last decade? There’s only 30 franchises so if a billionaire wants in on the sport, they’ll take whatever is available.

The Target Field lease has a non-relocation clause until 2040. They’re not going anywhere anytime soon even with new owners.
