  1. In what way did his salary kill us? He was a late signing after striking out on pitching free agents.
  2. A guy with an .829 OPS and 3.7 WAR in 163 games is the 5th worst signing? The revisionist history about Donaldson on TD is insane. Am I glad about trading him away when we did? Absolutely. But he wasn’t a huge problem while he played on the Twins.
  3. Hey bunny, what gives? You didn’t drop off any candy this year. I thought I was a good boy.
  4. Fragmenting is working so far for the NFL even though there are more than a few complaints about it. They can get away with it because of the exclusivity of 1 game per week. I can’t see it working out as well for baseball with 162 games. If the Twins are on a streaming service I’m not currently subscribed to, I’ll skip the game. The urgency is not the same to subscribe to Peacock for 1 Twins game on a random night in June.
  5. Just show up to the game shirtless and that should be enough to get you in cuffs
  6. Our old friend’s stat line is not bad this year. 27 appearances 26 IP 3.12 ERA
  7. I would trade them Vazquez, Margot, and Farmer to even out the salary. Click “force trade” then turn off my PlayStation with a feeling of accomplishment. You should do Justin Verlander next!
  8. I didn’t want him back personally. But beggars can’t be choosers and our interior OL has no depth. Here’s to hoping Brandel wins the starting job.
  9. You’re kidding. I figured Buxton’s leg would have done this contacting another leg.
  10. We might see a market correction in the FA market given that half of the teams are dealing with this TV disaster. I wouldn’t want to be a free agent this winter. They could be waiting a long time for a deal like 2018.
  11. I’m still mad as well. I’ll go to a couple of live games because live baseball is still awesome. Beyond that I’m just a box score skimmer now. Soon enough that will get boring too.
  12. Yep. And if the Twins really believe they are contenders then I can see them riding it out with Kepler. In full disclosure I’m just scanning his b-ref page but I see a BAbip at a much higher rate (.319) vs anytime in his career (.255 career, previous high is last year at .288) and a lower hard hit % compared to last year. This might be the time to sell high.
  13. If he keeps this up, he might have more value as a trade deadline rental vs. the compensation he’ll receive from the qualifying offer.
  14. Also at the golf course. I’ll be lucky to finish 18 holes in 5 hours today
  15. Up Nort at the cabin dontcha know
  16. My guess is Diego Castillo. 4+ years of MLB experience and the stat line in St. Paul is intriguing - 18 IP - 2.50 ERA - 22/6 K/BB
  17. All of the rain we’ve been getting has been so good for my garden! The weeds have been sprouting like crazy too. Yesterday I filled a wheelbarrow full of weeds from my plot. Romaine lettuce and radishes will be picked in the next couple of weeks!
  18. Looks like there’s a temporary boost since the meeting. My question is how many times can they go back to the well with players only meetings? Seems like they have to do it at least once per season since 2022.
  19. Old friend Lamonte Wade Jr currently leads MLB with a .484 OBP. The Giants record appears to be safe for now… 2004 Barry Bonds had a .609 OBP (!!)
  20. Complaining about “whiners” doesn’t add anything to the discussion either. Want to do something about it? Post an intelligent comment yourself.
  21. It’s been the same type of comments over the last 3 seasons. Same problems with an offense that’s not good enough. We have a gluttony of 26/27 year old players that aren’t taking the next step at the MLB level. It really feels like this team is stuck in perpetual mediocrity.
