    That’s what it appears because we are afraid to plant our flag on a QB for more than a year. Darnold for $35 million is an absolute bargain compared to the QB market as a whole. We should not have been afraid to match or beat the 3 year contract he got from Seattle.

    My reckless speculation on it is Kwesi wanted to go full steam ahead with the roster build around a rookie contract. I don't think KOC ever bought into it because we had the Aaron Rodgers rumors all summer long. I think KOC knew McCarthy was very raw as a QB and needed more time on the sidelines. Hard to know if KOC fought to retain Darnold or not. But I'm fairly certain KOC wanted another veteran starting QB for sure in 2025.

    If we had decent reporters still, maybe we would get that story... But I doubt it will see the light of day until KOC is out of here too. That was the single worst decision this organization has made in years.

    Yeah that injury stings. There aren't any TEs on the roster currently that can replace Oliver's run blocking.

    On a positive note, Justin Jefferson just sprained his ankle and could/should be ready to go for next Sunday.

    I'm good with this. The downgrade from Wes Johnson to Pete Maki was noticeable.

    I think we’ve learned the bucket of QBs KOC can work with the best is really small. He did well with Kirko Chainz and Darnold. He simply won’t make the proper adjustments to support a mobile QB.

    I would also call the Chargers now and see if they’re ready to move on from Herbert now… We might as well push the chips in while we have a Super Bowl caliber defense.

    This makes the “competition” this offseason even more of a sham. Why did we bother wasting reps on a fake competition?

    Wish it was a conditional pick based on playing time. But it was clear for months we wanted nothing to do with JJM this season.

    I fell asleep on the couch and missed the whole 2nd half of that game.

    Scherzer and Verlander over 3,000 IP... Next active player is Chris Sale with 2,246. I don't see him or Gerrit Cole being healthy enough for 5 more seasons of 180+ IP.

    I'm all in on the NL playoffs this year. Great matchups to start and continue through the WS. AL? Not so much.

    Verlander and Scherzer IMO are the last old bulldog SP from yesteryear. They don’t make em like those 2 anymore.
