  1. Jaguars jerseys are bad ass today. 3 and out good start for the Flores D
  2. Well sure, any of our ideas can blow up. We don't know who's available via trade without some smoke from insiders. I'm heading into the offseason thinking Falvey has no choice but to prepare this organization for a sale. Doesn't matter if it's a private or public business, they all do the same things. One includes beefing up the balance sheet so the prospective buyer believes it's a profitable opportunity. If we hold all of our players, I don't think Falvey has even $5 million additional to work with this winter,
  3. I’m with you. Payroll was going to be at this level or lower regardless with the attendance and TV contract where it is. The new ownership group just might be big spenders but they’re going to want to make their own decisions. Correa and Lopez are big financial commitments that they didn’t make.
  4. Agreed. The Lopez and Correa contracts worked under different circumstances when the Pohlads beefed up the payroll closer to $160 million. Now things have changed. Unless we unload one of Correa, Lopez, or Buxton we aren’t spending more than $2 million on a FA contract.
  5. As you’ve posted about several times this offseason it’s going to take 2 or 3 separate trades to shake up the current roster build… The answer to your question is probably not in the Correa trade, but later in the offseason.
  6. The only reason we’re having this conversation at all is because the team is up for sale. Moves made this offseason won’t be about roster construction. It will be about cleaning up financials for the new ownership group.
  7. That’s essentially the problem this offseason. The baseline of talent is decent enough to win 82 games, but I have no faith that the Twins will spend any money this offseason to boost their current baseline. So we might be stuck with another mediocre mid 80s win team.
  8. Sad but true. Lopez is the only one that satisfies both sides… Shedding salary and getting the best return in a trade. I think shopping Lopez to Baltimore makes a lot of sense, personally. Their farm system is still loaded and their window of contention is right now.
  9. This win should be easy enough to throw in the backups for most of the 4th quarter. The Jags have long given up on their coach and the season.
  10. 3 missed face mask calls in 1 play! Once again there’s no consistency or accountability with the refs.
  11. Last year Sonny Gray still averaged less than 6 innings per start with an ERA increase from 2.79 to 3.84 last year. He went from 5.4 bWAR to 1.8. The Twins clearly got the best performance out of Gray.
  12. Wow, that is a lot of information to sift through. I’m sure this took a lot of time to research and write, so kudos to the author. For those that continued watching the playoffs, we saw other teams utilize the same strategies Rocco used all season. He’s one of about 25 managers that can be described as “alright”. Tito Francona is always brought up as the gold standard when people demand a new manager. I guess we will see if he brings that same magic to Cincinnati.
  13. The trade deadline has improved tenfold compared to 10 years ago but there’s still much to be desired. Besides Lattimore it was trades for rotational guys, not difference makers. I’m not sure Lattimore is still a difference maker either.
  14. I would give Wallner every opportunity to be one of the Five Guys. His arm plays in either corner OF spot and his bat has All-Star upside. Correa, Buxton, and Lewis will be called upon again to be in the Five Guys and that’s the frustrating part. Health continues to fail them every season. Beyond that, I don’t think there’s a final 5 guy… Also, since no one has done it yet. https://restaurants.fiveguys.com/search
  15. Per PFF, Bradbury was the 2nd highest graded player on offense last night. 3rd highest graded player on the team. Now I’m questioning whether I watched the same game as PFF last night.
  16. The GM is likely out after the season too. Whoever takes on this opportunity better ask for a 6+ year contract to make it worthwhile. The Saints are in awful shape cap wise until the end of 2026.
  17. I also wouldn’t be opposed to an Adam Thielen reunion and he should be very cheap to acquire. That way Hockenson isn’t the only big body over the middle of the field/red zone
  18. At 6-2 the Vikings should do something additional to Cam Robinson. Detroit looks too loaded so I’m not advocating for a big swing… If I’m Kwesi today I’m calling Miami to acquire either or both of Calais Campbell and Raheem Mostert.
  19. Absolutely this. There’s no accountability or consistency with these calls. Almost like the NBA where the stars get the calls no matter what, and guys like Darnold haven’t earned the right to get these calls. I was not happy with the BS explanation during the Rams game and the explanation after this game isn’t great either.
  20. 2 games in a row where a ref “didn’t see it.” Except this time they threw a flag, picked it up, and claimed they didn’t see it afterward.
  21. I was out with the boys tonight celebrating my brother’s birthday. First half flew by. 2nd half not so much. Indy’s offense does not work without Richardson’s threat of running the ball. Flacco was finding pockets in our soft zone coverage and that was frustrating. Darnold’s red zone INT was a terrible decision and terrible throw. He did not play well tonight. I’m quite concerned about the state of the OL moving forward. Buckner and Stewart dominated our interior OL. Our screen game is back to being complete trash. All of that said, the Vikings dominated time of possession tonight, and it should have been a curb stomping if Darnold doesn’t make his dumb mistakes he’s making every game.
  22. Agreed. Philly is a fraud team this year. But they’ll get the benefit of playing the Cowboys who are crashing and burning, and Giants later this season to inflate their record.
  23. Philly was doing everything they can to give Jacksonville a win… Then Lawrence throws an off target pass in the end zone for the game sealing INT
