  1. Nice. Heard Rocco say on Sirius/XM radio earlier this week they wanted to do a mechanical adjustment with Ober for another start (tonight) since he’s on a rehab assignment anyway. Sounds like he might be back on the menu very soon for the big league club.
  2. Current tally today is 9 calls. Only 1 left a voicemail trying to sell auto insurance
  3. The players coming back would have to be ready to go for us opening day 2026. Trading for guys who are 2 or more years away will be a disservice to the dozen players we have with an expiring contract in 2027
  4. My phone number and info must have been sold by data brokers recently. I’ve received 7 spam calls today alone. I had a good 2 weeks without any spam calls. Anyone else get them in waves?
  5. The only way I’m trading Duran or Jax in the next week is if they return a young C or 1B who’s already in the majors. Or a C/1B who could be in the majors but they’re blocked - like Joe Ryan in Tampa. Beyond that, I have little to no interest trading either one of them for prospects who have an ETA of 2027 and beyond.
  6. The trade package on our side would include more than just Larnach for him, agreed. My rough draft would be Jax and Larnach for Baldwin.
  7. Twins record against LH pitching this year is 6-12. We are 1-9 in the last 10 games against LH starters. I think I know how to vote on this poll.
  8. I could see both Miranda and Julien flipped in the offseason for international bonus money. We’re not gonna receive anything more than a very flawed prospect back in return.
  9. Seattle as well has Harry Ford who will be blocked for the foreseeable future by Big Dumper. Seattle always needs bats. There are opportunities out there… My priorities align with yours. I’m targeting C who have already debuted in MLB or could immediately be added to the 26 man roster if they’re blocked by someone else. I have little to no interest trading players with control beyond this year for A+ ball or lower talent.
  10. Another example team I thought of is Atlanta. They’re having a more disappointing season than us, but they’re too heavily invested in their core to give up on 2026. They’re struggling big time to find an answer in LF (Verdugo, Kelenic, Eli White all struggling, Profar suspended). They have a young C in Drake Baldwin that’s doing well in his first 71 MLB games, and blocked by Sean Murphy who’s signed through 2028. Maybe we can put a package together where it benefits both teams who want to continue trying to win in 2026?
  11. Posted this in another thread. I am curious if Larnach can be used as bait to reel in another current MLB player? My example was Pittsburgh who can’t develop a position player to save their lives. So maybe they will be interested in an established player like Larnach in exchange for Henry Davis since he is floundering as a former 1st overall pick.
  12. Had this on my mind this morning… We’ve been talking about acquiring prospects in return for our established players… Trading MLB talent for MLB talent is rare, but it would be interesting to find a team with a surplus of MLB bats in exchange for our surplus of MLB arms. So I’m looking through FanGraphs and see C Drake Baldwin for Atlanta. Who will be blocked by Sean Murphy for the foreseeable future. Is there a package we can put together to acquire him? That way Atlanta can reload for another run in 2026 and same with our Twins. Pittsburgh is one of the worst development teams in the league. Can we find a fix for former 1st overall pick Henry Davis? Perhaps in exchange for Larnach or Wallner? Just wanted to throw some ideas out for thought. Maybe I’m crazy.
  13. Nor should they settle for present value. Imagine in 2019 the Twins could have acquired two high octane late inning arms to replace guys like Rhyne Harper and Blake Parker for Brusdal Graterol and one of Kirilloff, Wander Javier (#4 org prospect at the time), or Trevor Larnach. Even without hindsight that would have been a slam dunk yes.
  14. This came out of no where. Go get him Kwesi!
  15. Exactly. I prefer only trading 1 of them at this time. Trading both of them in the same deal has an extremely high risk of blowing up in our face. Jax and Duran would be the back end of any playoff contender’s bullpen and win them a WS. Hedge the bet!
  16. If Falvey accepts any of these trades for both Duran and Jax I’m hacking into their network so he can’t file the paperwork in time.
  17. It will be shocking if the Pohlads meddle with any roster moves. As you’ve said over and over, this is the roster Falvey wants. He’s consistently said in media interviews he has confidence in this current roster.
  18. Yeah, the expanded playoff format has really nerfed the trade deadline. Gave a lot of teams false hope, which leaves only the bottom feeders like CWS, COL, and the A’s as clear sellers. Slim pickings on those teams… In the next CBA we should talk about moving the trade deadline back to Aug 31. It will diminish expiring contract player’s values greatly, but at least by that time teams know if they’re in or out.
  19. Diego Cartaya is a cautionary tale chasing top 100 prospects in the low minors. Pre-2023 he was a top 20 prospect in the game on 3 publications. Then he moved on to AA and it’s been downhill ever since. His time in our organization was comically bad. 40 strikeouts in 69 plate appearances.
  20. 1A Ownership - This organization has no direction, no vision. Just hoping that someone offers them a golden parachute to get out of their massive debt and escape the public eye forever. 1B Front Office - They’ve had 2 offseasons to pivot after getting the rug pulled from them by the Pohlads. They’ve done the bare minimum in the offseason and trade deadlines ever since. Falvey continues doubling down on this core of players, even though we are the slowest team in baseball, one of the poorest fielding teams in baseball, and prone to long offensive slumps. Oh, and they quietly pick up Rocco’s contract for another year. 2 Manager/Coaches - How can the players take things seriously when the same manager and 80% of the coaches remain the same after an epic collapse? 3 Players - Correa, Wallner, and Lewis have been extremely disappointing with high expectations in preseason. Miranda and Julien crashing and burning. Our depth was vapor thin and were relying too heavily on marginal talent.
  21. Yes Absolutely yes. Last year proved the core of this team is not good enough and Rocco should have been fired after an epic collapse in September.
  22. Hard to turn down a 5 run victory yesterday /s. We got 1 in LA which is what the spreadsheet told us is an acceptable outcome
  23. Nothing wrong with setting a high standard on the trade return. We will see how desperate contending teams get in the next week. If no one meets the asking price, oh well. We get to keep an elite reliever on the team.
  24. Pretty easy to see why the Dodgers are calling around for bullpen help. So many uncompetitive pitches thrown last night.
  25. Wouldn’t even call that a mistake pitch. That was just silly from the best player in the world
