  1. Paying a fine and taking a couple of online courses doesn’t feel like enough for a guy who passes out in his car on the freeway
  2. Someone way smarter than I am is gonna have to explain like I’m 5 what “wet reckless” means in California law. Still sounds like even with the reduced charge from a DUI, Addison will still get a 2 or 3 game suspension.
  3. https://awfulannouncing.com/mlb/nbc-apple-espn-bid-sunday-night-baseball-package-rob-manfred.html However, Manfred also revealed that the Sunday Night Baseball package could be split between two bidders. NBC, in particular, could be a sensible destination for the inventory during the summer to bridge its gap between the end of Sunday Night Basketball and the start of Sunday Night Football in the fall. ESPN could then, hypothetically, bookend the season with the package while NBC has NBA and NFL obligations. Last week, Sports Business Journal reported Apple is a front-runner for the package, so they shouldn’t be counted out either. Perhaps even more notable, Manfred suggested that a potential ESPN deal could include the local broadcast rights for the five MLB clubs the league currently controls production and distribution for: the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Guardians, Colorado Rockies, Minnesota Twins, and San Diego Padres. Any deal reached between MLB, ESPN, or others would only be short-term, ending in 2028 when the league can reorganize its entire suite of national media rights. MLB’s other primary national rights agreements with Fox and TNT Sports expire in 2028.
  4. It was bound to happen.
  5. So you’d trade Keaschall for a utility player and a SP with a 5 ERA on expiring contracts and a 20 year old flaming out in low A. Good trade 👍
  6. Man your edibles must be strong tonight. I bet if we kick in Randy Dobnak they’ll process the paperwork immediately.
  7. As long as Texas, Boston, and the Blue Jays don’t pretend to be something they’re not, I feel good about real changes happening in this league. The Cubs cry poor every season so I’m not worried about them.
  8. No bueno for an old friend
  9. San Diego is the best bet to leave that quadrant. The others are entrenched
  10. There should be a majority of owners who can push for real change in the upcoming CBA negotiations. But every team in the upper right quadrant will do everything in their power to keep status quo.
  11. Might as well let Clemens be the primary 1B for the next 2-3 weeks and reassess from there. Sabato feels more like an August conversation if we waive the white flag on the season. St Paul should be prepping both McCusker and Sabato at 1B for an eventual call up.
  12. Any time works for us to move on from the Pohlads and start the sweep of management positions.
  13. At least the baseball all star game requires them to still play the game the way it is intended. Can’t say that about NBA or NHL which is a mockery. Football’s all star game was so awful they stopped playing it all together. I don’t care about any of the all star games, and at the same time I don’t think there’s anything the leagues can do to make them better. If kids get excited about all of their favorite players in one place, that’s what it’s all about.
  14. Royce is the type of guy who could have his leg cut off and be positive about it saying I’m ready to go tomorrow. The training staff needs to protect him from himself
  15. I don’t think he’s been healthy at all this year, and probably last season too. Gotta ride it out. He’s not making a ton of money anyway so what’s the risk of waiting until he’s actually healthy?
  16. I didn’t realize my create a player from MLB the Show back in the day was a real life person.
  17. Took a nice afternoon nap on the couch. Looks like I haven’t missed much
  18. Slick play at 3B for Lewis to end the inning @RpR
