  1. I'll put the odds of Plouffe on this team at 20%. IMO the Sano to RF angle is just smoke and mirrors to show other teams that Plouffe could fit on the roster. Sano will be the starting 3B on opening day, and Plouffe will be dealt for a legitimate bullpen arm.
  2. Buckle up boys, the war is here! I'm predicting the Gerhardt's find and capture Ed Blumquist tonight... Also maybe one of the Kitchen brothers is taken out by the Gerhardt family too.
  3. 2015 biggest surprise: Remaining competitive and relevant until game 159 or so... Especially when you look at the roster as a whole and think how did they do that? 2016 surprise: Berrios makes the team after getting the Kris Bryant treatment and immediately becomes our best pitcher. Danny Santana rebounds after a rough 2015 to reclaim his starting SS spot. Oswaldo Arcia gets back to eating Fogo De Chao and starts mashing RH pitching again.
  4. Agreed. The shorter the contract the better IMO. If he proves his worth after 1-2 years, I wouldn't mind paying a premium again to retain him for another 1-2 years.
  5. Now that the Twins won the bid to negotiate with Park, I think the Plouffe for Lind idea is dead. I would be excited for the Atlanta Braves or San Diego Dad's proposals. The White Sox for all I know could be the best proposal, but I'd prefer not to deal Plouffe to a division rival.
  6. The Twins certainly needed some power in the lineup, let's hope we found our DH for the next 3-4 years however long the contract is.
  7. Any thoughts on who you think is the Lester Nygaard this season? Peggy came to my mind because she's already manipulating Ed to do unspeakable things in order to cover up her fault in episode 1.. Then again Ed maybe due to snap now that his dream of a perfect life (multiple kids, owning the butcher shop) is crashing before his eyes.
  8. There's 2 people that come to mind... Denny Hocking is 45 years old these days, but I'm willing to give him a shot on a 1 year deal. The Twins also need someone who can bunt, so Nick Punto may be a dark horse.
  9. Sounds good thanks. Will be bolting to the liquor store as soon as the clock strikes 5:01.
  10. I'm starting to believe more and more that you may be a communist diehard... I didn't forget that you and Chief installed cameras to monitor me during Minnesota Twins Whine Line. Now you're saying you aren't a fan of Nachos?!!
  11. YES. Do yourself a favor and keep watching. It's much deeper than just a "hacking movie". Really starts getting good by about episode 3 if I recall correctly.
  12. Suggestions on what brand to get for Orange Liqueur? Really in the mood for a margarita today...
  13. The camera didn't do it justice... It's a white cheese queso, and the jalapenos were hiding underneath the chicken. I had a few Pacifico's to go with that monstrous appetizer. Took 4 grown men to take that down.
  14. Made a road trip recently to San Antonio and had the King Kong Nacho's at Chacho's.... Everything is bigger in Texas http://s3.amazonaws.com/foodspotting-ec2/reviews/936946/thumb_600.jpg?1318113649
  15. Man the plot lines are thickening quickly through 4 episodes. S*** is about to hit the fan soon for the Gerhardt family, and the Blumquist's. I'm getting the sense that Peggy's the Lester Nygaard of this season: Letting all of the close people around her fall so she can get what she feels she deserves. Clearly she has no interest being a midwestern homemaker and wife of a butcher shop owner....
  16. Today is National Nachos Day. Best place to get Nachos....Go.
  17. Pass on all of the above. The Twins can do better than this.
  18. Agreed on all counts. Plouffe needs to be traded this offseason. We all know this, and every GM in the MLB is probably aware of it too. The value of Plouffe seems to be all over the map, as a trade piece to acquire that coveted young C or SP. I recall listening in to one of the latest Gleeman and the Geek podcasts, where John and Aaron's expectation is to get a good bullpen arm for Plouffe. Not sure if that's going to be a disappointment or not, but I agree with their expectation....
  19. Nothing wrong with getting more position flexibility from Sano. Then again I'd still like him to get as many reps as possible at 3B....
  20. And there's hundreds if not thousands of other players drafted in the teens or later who never pan out to be MLB players.. People would complain about that too if we remembered that the person was drafted in the 1st round. If anything your argument shows that it doesn't matter where these players are drafted. The whole process is a gamble. Giving up the #17 pick IMO shouldn't hold us back from making this deal. If the money and number of years holds them back from Wieters, I'm more understanding of that. I don't agree with it, but can respect the decision.
  21. I think Gardy will be hired as a manager again. The league seems to be cyclical when it comes to their hiring process. The latest and greatest now is to hire that former player/young gun with no managerial experience. It first worked in St. Louis with Mike Matheny, and now everyone wants to jump on that bandwagon. Once there's enough failures out there, or if another team goes back to the recycling bin of former managers and sees success, teams will go back to the old way.
  22. It's a good thought, but I don't see any of those options usurping the starting spot from Suzuki... And IMO that should be the top priority to find someone who can take the majority of starts so Suzuki's vesting option for 2017 doesn't happen.
  23. I wouldn't be concerned with giving up the #17 pick if Wieters is offered a QO. If the contract is within the 4/60 projection I'd bite the bullet and bring him on board.
  24. Apparently today is National Candy Day. Why would they have this so close to Halloween?
  25. Lol I was single for a while, yes. Surprisingly there's a miss Vanimal in the picture now.... Though I will say there's a better chance the Twins win a WS before I walk down the marriage aisle
