  1. Sorry, I forgot, Defense is judged by errors and fielding %. I'm sure that's what Bert and Dick are using. SO yeah, Tigers Are WAAAAAAY better on defense :-)
  2. Announcers just got done saying Tigers defense was way better than the Twins this year. That didn't sound right so I checked. Twins 29th in DRS. Tigers 28th.
  3. One can only hope a good chunk of those guys are actually worth locking up.
  4. apparently high OBP and fantastic defense makes him an obstacle not an asset :-)
  5. I know for sure that when I see the lineup and Mauer isn't in it, I find it easier to not watch it and go do something else. And my favorite current player is Kepler.
  6. I'd love to see Mauer on the bench more just to see all the people then slam HIM for the amount of games missed at the end of the season :-)
  7. Grossman has 13 DRS, but he's played 500 Inning in the OF. Santana has -10 DRS in the OF this year in only 440 innings played in the OF. Yeah, perhaps he's better than Grossman, but then you have to factor in he can't hit or steal bases.
  8. reading that makes me think that some of you think you aren't screwed having Teddy as your starter? :-)
  9. I can think of at least three, a couple in 2014 :-)
  10. Has anyone ever seen you and Danny Santana in the same room?
  11. 'I had not considered his multifaceted inabilities.' Did someone mention Danny Santana? :-)
  12. Remember when so many people were talking about how great Grossman was, and that we found a diamond in the rough, and that he was still young, and wondering why it was unreasonable to believe he put the pieces together now that he was with us,and so on and so forth. Good times.
  13. The Cubs move people around a lot, but the guys who get shuffeled can actually play the positions they get moved to well. Like Bryant is a very good 3B, but sometimes others needs to play, so he gets moved out to OF where he's showed competence and an IF gets 3B. We have very few players who can play their #1 position well.
  14. yeah, just not sure it has to do with anything between the ears is all I'm saying.
  15. BTW, I'll say it again. If a real 1B is out there, the runner is out for out #3. All that nonsense that happened after that was when they should have already been in the dugout. Doesn't excuse Duffy's breakdown at all, but again. Defense matters. Playing people out of position all the time has consequences.
  16. more of an expert on unloading, myself :-)
  17. He's had 7 starts. A LITTLE too early to label him like that.
  18. Oh please don't let this be true. We are SOOOOO screwed.
  19. Gordon came back from injury too soon. His timing was off. He's hit very well this month and been on an absolute terror the last week or so.
  20. Keep him in just long enough to really let the game get away from us.
  21. A real 1B stretches enough to make that an out.
