    So because the Twins paid Ricky a lot of money, Ricky and his agent expect the Twins to give him a chance to pitch in the rotation? Not sure I follow the agent's reasoning. Should be happy the Twins gave him the ccontract to begin with.

    Concerning the Sansa rape scene in GOT, she wasn't even the character who got raped in the book in that scene, right? Wasn't it someone being passed off as Arya in the book, one of Arya's friends. Sansa never went there at that point as far as I remember, but she was such a popular character in the show that they didn't want to have her do nothing so they substituted Sansa in her place. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly.

    I am not sure what is interesting about that specifically. There were only 63 qualifying position players/DH at 3.0 or higher, so KC had more than average. Twins had one, Dozier, who would have been 4th on the Royals. And overall, 4 starting position players and a DH above 2.0 is quite good. And it's not my solid starter metric. You quoted WAR in your post category and Fangraphs labels WAR categories not me.

    Can't assume that's true, since WAR goes up and down during a season, not just up. Only thing you can say is if he continued to perform exactly the same way, he would have had about 2.1 WAR, but that assumes he would have performed exactly the same way. Still, a WAR at 2.1 is nice (especially for rookie), but that is just barely considered a solid starter as opposed to a role player (2-3=solid starter, 1-2=role player).

    Would have been harder for TR to let Punto retire if Gardy was still manager of the Twins :-)

    Or they can just steal Fangraphs writers and let those guys create them :-)

    Fangraphs is a site that has quite a few writers that MLB teams recruit. And some have actually worked for teams in various roles, whether it's part of the FO or as scouts.

    I suppose one could conclude Correia was fine IF the other two pitchers acquired that offseason weren't Worley (recovering/not quite back from injury) and Pelfrey (same as Worley). Not exactly a GM doing everything possible to seriously improve the rotation for that upcoming season.

I think we all saw glimpses of a bright future so that’s not to say he was awful, just that he didn’t make a great case to be the best guy for right that moment.' May was pitching the best in the rotation before he got sent to the pen. He had the highest WAR, the best FIP, the most Ks/9 IP, the 2nd best BB/9. The problem was having a very high BABIP against. Wouldn't expect that to continue.

    Yeah, this isn't yet another thing to blame on Mauer and/or his contract. They could have decided to DH Sano or Mauer and play the other at 1B, while signing an OF (and not signing Park). That would have kept Sano out of the OF, by putting him at 1B or DH, while improving our OF defense instead of hurting it.. They could play him at 3B (if they thought he could play there like we were told for years). If they decided he wasn't going to be able to stick at 3B in the majors they could have moved him awhile ago. It's absolutely mismanagement.

    Watchmen was very good. Both Captain America's were very good, Avengers was fun, Guardians of the Galaxy was very good. I'm a James Spader fan so I also liked Age of Ultron. And there are more. Somehow Daredevil, to me, has been better than practically any of the movies based on comics and all the TV shows based on comics.

    I think Affleck will be fine and the movie should be darn good.

    Magic is the best PG of all time. Curry may be the best shooter ever, but Magic is the best PG.

    If he could improve his OBP to consistently be in the .330s or higher, he'd be a very valuable player with the defense he's shown so far.

    If you believe Hunter, he's given us a good indication that Sano in the OF is gonna be quite the ride, and not in a good way. Molitor doesn't seem convinced in the comments he's given. And I think there's more to the OF than just speed and athleticism. I highly, highly doubt he's even close to average out there with his size and complete inexperience in the OF. We will see though, clearly, since that's the plan
