  1. Cody, I agree with your 'should' wins and your 'will' wins.
  2. I heard yesterday on MLB Network that we have the worst record this decade. So we have THAT going for us.
  3. #1: starting pitching. #2: defense. If those two arent fixed, doesnt much matter what the rest are.
  4. or Sano, both in the OF and IF.
  5. I finally did my first game thread for Saturday's game. I enjoyed doing so, but I must say its not easy. Took some serious time to try and write something that might be interesting.
  6. morneau started off awesome in 2003 and took the 1B spot. then he had an offseason from hell before the 2004 season. Couldn't prepare for the season due to one bad health thing after another.
  7. even Wesley in the first season of Daredevil was more intriguing than any bad guy in Luke Cage. The calmness hiding the bad guy boiling underneath. Still like Luke Cage, but for me, its not close to the other two. The other two were truly great, IMO.
  8. I like Luke Cage, but not as much as Daredevil and Jessica Jones. I don't find the bad guys interesting, which was a big part of the other two series.
  9. Westworld starts tonight.
  10. First part of this article is about Buxton http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/sunday-notes-buxton-bucs-frazier-jays-cy-young-award-more/
  11. AL Ranks for rotation: 15th in FIP 15th in Ks 13th in IP 14th in HR/9 15th in BAA 15th in QS 15th in OBP against 15th in SLG% against
  12. Kris Bryant is a very good defender at multiple positions and he's a stud on offense. He's also going to be NL MVP.
  13. As always, when figuring out if a player is a flop, it's going to depend on what kind of expectations people have for him. He had a fantastic first week back, then struggled for a couple weeks, and has now had a really good week. We need to see what he can do for a full season or two in the majors, without earning a demotion, and compare it to what we have expected of him to figure out of he's a bust or not.
  14. Probably won't announce until the Indians are out of the playoffs.
  15. He had one outlier year in 2014. In reality, he's a mediocre pitcher. Better than Gibson, but still.
  16. Thanks for posting the lineups. I just got back from my nephew's birthday party and saw it was taken care of.
  17. So, with the Twins sporting 103 losses, I was thinking about the number 103. -103 is the 27th prime number, and each team gets 27 outs in a regulation baseball game. -103 is a happy number, except for when it's the number in the loss column for your favorite baseball team. -103 is the atomic number for lawrencium, which we all know was named after Jennifer Lawrence. -The Roman Numeral for 103 is CIII. The Albatros C-III was a German two-seat general-purpose plane introduced in 1916. In 1916, the Boston Red Sox played the Brooklyn Robins (who would eventually become the Los Angeles Dodgers). Will the Red Sox and Dodgers face each other in the 2016 World Series? -Day 103 on a standard Julian Day Calendar is April 13. Some things that happened in baseball history on April 13th are: -- April 13th, 1926, Walter Johnson, at age 41, pitches his 7th opening day shutout. -- April 13th, 1954, Hank Aaron plays his first MLB game. -- April 13th, 1963, Pete Rose records first hit on his MLB career, a triple. -- April 13th, 1984, Pete Rose records 4,000th hit. -- April 13th, 2016, Twins lose their 8th consecutive game to start the season 0-8. -Day 103 on a leap year Julian Day Calendar is April 12. Leap years are when we hold Presidential elections in the United States. So instead of focusing on what happened in baseball history on April 12th, let's look at some things that happened in American history in the political arena on April 12th. They include: -- April 12th, 1861, The American Civil War began when Confederate forces fired on Fort Sumter. -- April 12th, 1945, President Roosevelt dies in office. -- April 12th, 1999, President Clinton is cited for contempt of court for giving intentionally false statements in a sexual harassment lawsuit. -- April 12th, 2015, Hillary Clinton announces she will, for the 2nd time, seek the Democratic Nomination for President. So there we have it, good ole number 103. Here's to hoping we don't need to think about the numbers 104 and 105. GO TWINS! --------------------------- TWINS SP: Santiago WHITE SOX SP: Shields Rest of Lineups to be posted when available.
  18. That is horrible. If you don't mind my asking, did they give a reason?
  19. I have to commit actual crimes to get fired like disclose classified information on purpose or accident.
  20. Theo has been lucky. It's all been luck. Any GM could have done what he did with the Red Sox and now the Cubs :-)
  21. i have every other friday off and today is my off friday. I was going to binge watch it, but instead i have three appts.
  22. So much for Gibson getting his ERA under 5.00, and he got his FIP closer to 5.00. What a pitcher. Just THIIIIIIIIS close to becoming a really good pitcher. Glad we didn't trade him last year....
  23. we are quite a long way from being a competitive team. Going to take time to build this team right and fix all the issues in order to make this a true playoff contender. We shouldnt want a patchwork job done. And yes, while its true not even the best manager would have made this team a contender, molitor couldnt manage this team to 60 wins this year.
