  1. Remember Percy Harvin????? He had 3 seasons with with the Vikings at 14, 15 and 16 games played and then struggled to stay more and more to stay on the field for half a season, and then couldn't Migraines can be a serious problem.
  2. Like the 1991 Halloween Blizzard, this mid-April Snownamie is an aberration. I am so happy that the Twins play in a real outdoor ballpark and not a fishbowl retractable roof stadium.
  3. Fortunately, My wife and I sat on the third baselione in the sun. Then we kept moving to the outfield as the "shadow" chased us. Ended out being a beautiful day for a game if one was in the sun. Unfortunately, after a few nice innings from Brrrrrios, it got ugly fast and then got uglier. "Lomo" is making me crave for Lomo-til.
  4. This should be another interesting cold weather game. Hope our pitchers' arms stay healthy. Are there any stats on any correlation between cold weather and injuries? Everyone here should think about coming out to Target Field TODAY!!! You can dress for this. You cannot dress to make an early August game at 98 degrees and 98% humidity comfortable. No amount of deodorant, helmet sundaes and cold beer can compensate for that. It's Berrios vs. the World Champs and i'm worried that the fans will truly be "Fair Weather".
  5. On last night's MLB season preview, on MLB Network HR picked Twins to win AL Centrql!!!
  6. MLB investigated this accusation and its assessment regarding the lack of credibility of the accusation is pretty clear. Sorry, but I trust the MLB review as being more objective and thorough than the opinions of the "I'm a fan of Miggy" crowd and the "I know Betsy personally" crowd. Play ball!
  7. Still worried about at least one player on the current roster who made supportive comments to the alleged victim. Right or wrong - I'm concerned about resentment in the clubhouse.
  8. Considering the "correct" pronunciation with Rizz. I suggest that the Twins bring back Fizzies and promote fragrant ones called ODOR-FIZZIES.
  9. The Twins will put him in the bullpen to start the season, maybe a spot start. If he looks lousy, he should be waived. If Hughes looks good, then hopefully he'll find a role in the rotation or bullpen. I don't want to see him in AAA, where the Twins have a good staff that needs to pitch innings and prove themselves worthy to be on the big league club.
  10. Next year, Michael Pineda will ne back, another right hander. But Gonsalves, a lefty should be ready.
  11. That leaves Hughes fighting for a spot in the bullpen or being sent to Rochester (no other team will pick up his contract). He could retire too.
  12. If the TWins send Hughes down, no team is goinmg to pay his contract. So, looks like a freebie. If he miraculously regains his form of a few years ago, then we bring him back.
  13. With the signing of Lance Lynn, I expect that Hughes and Sanchez will have to perform very well in the next few weeks to stay with the big league squad. Their likely roles would be long relief and spot starter. My prediction: Only one or neither will survive ST, If they do not stay with the big league squad, Hughes will be waived, nobody will claim him at his current salary - and he'll go to Rochester, Sanchez will be DFAed.- and may possibly negotiate a minor league deal (if he looks good). Barring injury, the ultimate rotation (Santana, Berrios, Lynn, Odorizzi and Gibson) leaves no room for anyone else. Injuries or lousy performances by Kyle Gibson are the only ways there will openings to fill in this starting rotation . The Twins now will have the depth to deal with those and other kinds of problems. Playoff hopes have been renewed
  14. Some fans will complain about Dozier leaving. However, if the Twins are in contention, it will be worth it to have him here for the entire season. If the team falters, then the Twins get something at the trade deadline. Either way, the Twins have Gordon waiting to step up and are strong in the middle infield for years to come. The added power with Logan Morrison, who will be here next year to more than make up fort the loss of Dozier's power in the line-up. .
  15. Twins have mucho depth at middle infield. I don't want the Twins to offer more than three years, and would not wnat to see them break the bank. Dozier wil be dealt at the deadline if the Twins falter this year, or he will help to lead us to the promised land of the playoffs and then signor leave. The Twins can wait!!!
  16. Sure would like to see a lefty in the rotation (two would be better). Mejia and Gonsalves is all we got.
  17. I hope Sano stays in good enough shape to be 1B of the future instead of Rooker, then again Sano could easily end up as a career DH or a "no career" guy..
  18. He attributed the stones to the leafy veggies in his diet. Thus my suggestion that they name the dollar dogs "Dozier Dogs". Maybe encourage a diet less likely to cause the stones.
  19. According to today';s STRIB article. Sounds like a painful week but shouldn't affect his playing. Twins should encourage proper kidney health by renaming the hot dogs on Dollar a Dog Night - Dozier Dogs, 100% meat and meat by-products..
  20. Gonsalves should be higher just because he is a MLB-ready lefty with a pulse, and if he develops a decent third pitch. According to today's STRIB article, all he has is a fastball 91-92 and a change-up. He says he's working on a curveball, and it sounds like it may need work.
  21. Remember that sometime between late April and Mid-May, Ervin Santana will return. Where is Trevor May on the percentage radar?
  22. C'mon. Aaron Slegers is better option than this.
  23. So the tall lanky, lean lefty is seeking advice from David Wells who is the polar opposite physically.
  24. Tillman to a one year contract. $3 million plus incentives. Monday at 4:00pm
  25. The original post forgot about Michael Pineda coming back in 2019.
