    Araez will get some at bats playing 2nd and 3rd early in the season as well but I think he will get the majority in LF. You want his bat in the lineup and that is the best spot to get him consistent ABs. Also there will be injuries and he will fill in for those where needed. The game isn’t played on paper there will be at bats to go around as the season progresses. Makes sense early to keep Kiriloff in the minors and save the service time and give Cave, Arraez and Rooker the LF at bats in April.

    A guy who looks like he has a powerful swing that keeps the barrel in the zone a long time. The wood bat transition can have its effects and the advanced pitching of pro ball. So I am not a big fan of putting guys high on prospect rankings who havent played an inning of pro ball. The lost 2020 season is tough especially if he has any kind of adjustment struggles or injuries. With that said he is a guy who could move quickly, he is already 23 has a mans body and all indications an advanced approach. we will see where he starts the season but might be a fast riser up Twins and national prospect rankings. 2021 might be the most interesting season for prospect watching with all the minor league changes and the complete lost 2020.

    Like the signing because of the solid upside and consistent effectiveness when healthy. Wish it was a minor league deal with higher incentives so we would have a chance to look at him during spring training and get a better idea of where he is at health wise. I guess the Twins think he is healthy and ready to role! Might be the end for Thorpe tho!

    Major league deal or minor league deal with incentives at big league level? If it’s a major league deal no thank you! If it’s a minor league earn it deal I’m all for it!

    Wow Jose Miranda looks like he has put on 50 lbs! 2 years ago he was a thinner athletic build. In that video he looks hefty! Hopefully it doesn’t effect his defense and the versatility! Ben Rortvedt is the guy on this list! Very good defensive catcher would have been taken in the rule 5 if not protected because he can play major league defense right now. Very strong athletic kid if he can make some adjustment to his swing path watch out! He could shoot up this list

    Disregarding the lovable personality and physic, I don’t understand why people don’t see value in his unique skill set. A guy who can catch and play 3rd 1st and LF and you do t have to give regular at bats to. even if it’s subpar has value. Offensively he can put the bat on everything, just a small amount of plate discipline he could be a very productive hitter. During the course of the season we are going to run into injuries and Arraez will have to fill in. Who do you call up after Blankenhorn? How about if Garver or Jeffers has a short term injury? I just see many cases were have his versatility could be a value during the long season.

    I think they will keep tabs on Odo and maybe even the big maple. But that price has to be a extreme bargain. They might still move on another reliever again if the price is right

    I’m a 1 year 8 million with a mutual option for year 2. Maybe you add a buy out for a million of 2 for year 2. I’m ok walking away as long as it’s soon enough to bring in a starter like the big maple

    The more and more I read and think about this I don’t want Cruz back. Sooner rather then later the shoe is going to drop. There are solid to good hitters that will likely take a minor league deal or few million big league deal. Take the $ and go get the big Maple and sign a cheaper DH who can also play in the field and still have $ for a decent reliever. To me it seems that Cruz is going to cost a starter and a decent reliever. Pitching still wins in the league and I’m not sure Cruz is a good bet to duplicate his past 2 seasons. Don’t pay for past performances!

    3 complete unknowns on this list, will be interesting to follow them going forward. Miranda has always intrigued me but he has never put it all together. He physically looks like a ball player who can play all over the infield. Maybe this season he will put it all together and the bat will advance and stick for an extended period. Sand flat out has to stay healthy to get experience and progress. The complete lost season of 2020 for many of these young guys may be detrimental. Especially for those who missed 2019 or miss time in 2021 due to injuries. Hope he can stay healthy and progress.

    Bryant starting the season as the left fielder and moving around to DH 3B and 1B as needed isn’t that exactly what Marwin Gonzalez did his first season? We called him the utility man. Yes Polanco would also be the utility man but you could use 2 utility men using the DH to rotate players through. You would still have 10 men rotating thru regular at bats. With Bryant would let you give more off days to guys like Donaldson and still have him DH But either way I don’t think it happens for Bryant in MN

    Prospect lists is all about high upside so Lewis is the answer. But he still could never play a game in the majors. Were Kiriloff is at worst Delmon Young.

    Only makes sense if the Twins are willing to go to 135 140 million and you can bring in a guy like Baez as well and Bryant is ok playing the everyday utility role. Those two would be an extra 30 million and would still need bullpen help and still are thin on starting pitching. If the Twins think they can have fans this year i think it is a possibility.

    Darren O Day has been a solid successful soft tosser for years bring him in with all the right handed power in the division. Clippard is still out there if you don’t want to spend on A back end reliever.

    I’m fully in the Didi camp, want to see Polanco in the everyday utility role. Didi plays good defense, has power and playoff experience and don’t think he would break the bank on a shorter term deal.

    Would you rather have Matt Wisler or Hansel Robles? ill take Robles for also the same $ figure. Hoping this isnt the biggest bullpen move of the off season but a nice grab. I like the idea of bring in a SS, I dont want to trade away the farm tho for a 1 yr rental unless there is a contract extension attached. I also dont want to trade Arraez the contact and onbase skill is a needed asset for this team now and into the future. But i would be mad if he was moved to the Marwin Gonzalez role as an everyday utility guy. I dont mind bringing Cruz back but I also dont want to get caught with our pants down waiting for him to sign and all our options get snatched up.

    Took 2 guy off the market that likely weren't Twins targets, but also set the price for pitching if we are going to go the trade route. Still some quality arms on the trade market and via free agency. we know the market now so go out and get the guy you feel fits. My choice is sign Paxton and work out a deal for Castillo and Castellanos.

    I think Polanco as a utiliy guy would be best for him and the team. 2019 offensive surge wasn't real for many players like Polanco because the ball was juiced. Saying that I don't think he is as bad as he played in 2020. I think a move to utility and bringing in a SS would be perfect. Polanco doesn't need to play much if any OF if you don't bring back Cruz and or you bring up Kirloff to begin the season allow Rooker to take the OF at bats.

    I think Hand should be a priority, allows both Duffey and Rogers to be used in matchup situations, which both succeed at and also keeps them from pilling up saves which gets relievers paid in arbitration. I know we weren't interested at him for 1 yr and 9 mil but maybe a 2 yr for 14? or the same deal Rogers got 1 for 6 with a mutual option for a second year at loser to the 9 he miss out on. Be a steady closer, wants to come here and is one of us!

    if you could pull a Castellanos and Castillo trade built around a Larnach. Get a good power Rh bat who can play a little outfield but likely settle in as primary DH and a potential ace with team control

    No one has signed this off-season, no top team has jumped on guys unless you had a multi billionaire buy the team in the last months. The few signing that have happened have been with players who might miss the boat and later in offseason might have had to take a minor league deal. I think there is zero $ floating around this year with the unknown of spring training, a full season and fabless stadium and good players are worried about going jobless in 2021. I think this trend of very few signing continues until clarity of how the 2021 season plays out. Possibly by mid February we see a run on solid mlb players taking 1 year deals

    We lose Donaldson for any significant amount of time we might be in trouble. I like Blankenhorn as a utility guy but that bat has to continue to develop and he swings it from the left side, not sure he is an everyday 3B. This maybe where Royce Lewis ends up. Im hoping for a healthy big bounce back year from Donaldson!
