  1. Release Wilson and get someone breathing.
  2. What's most amazing to me is that in the whole dang system there isn't anyone better than Wilson????
  3. Swarzak just closed out the win for the Mets over the Yankees??
  4. I mean hitting below .300 was not normal for Joe, but if he hits between .260 and .270 like he did during those "bad seasons," it is not necessarily the worst thing ever; I mean if the Twins had a team batting average between .260 and .270 they'd be the best hitting franchise in the game at this point in time? So it was not the best seasons for Joe, but he was still a decently productive MLB player. So maybe the same media that was trying to destroy Joe during the bad years may have helped to come up with that excuse so as to explain why Joe returned to have a nice season last year. I mean there has to be a reason? right?

  6. Man they have to start hitting, or walking, or stealing bases, or doing something to get some runs across the plate. These pitchers are going to go through some cold stretches too, they aren't going to pitch like this all year it's the nature of the game, so they really really need to take advantage of all these good starts they have had.
  7. Who cares about all the other crap, I hope he blows them away!
  8. I'm sure professional athletes who have made hundreds of millions of dollars have highly paid medical personnel that will tell Joe what he should do. Any of us speculating about what will or could happen to him are all pretty much uninformed because we are not looking at his medical information, we are going off of what other people have said. His symptoms could be relatively minor? Not bad enough to prevent you or me from going to work, but him trying to track 95mph fastballs could be a different thing. His symptoms could also be the precursor to something worse where he should get the hell out asap. But since we are not the doctors looking at him and dealing with his issues we don't really know. We will find out when he and the medical team makes those decisions. Until then it's all speculations on our part.
  9. Yeah I feel considering; no Santana, no Mauer, no Buxton, no Polanco, no Castro and having missed a big stretch with no Sano that the Twins are actually doing alright. Especially if they can get on a little hot streak and get back to or close to .500. Everyone is talking about the teams that beat the twins, and the nay Sayers will say that you can't ignore those losses to Seattle, and Tampa, etc... However then on the flip side you can't ignore series win against Houston. Really they haven't been destroyed to badly lately, yeah they had a very bad stretch against the Yanks and Tampa, but almost all the losses to Seattle were like one run losses and Romero lost to Ohtani by like a run or two, so they have been in most of the games this month. Had they turned 3 or 4 of those games around they'd be right in the hunt. Also some other team right now that is 5 or 6 games over .500 goes on a little losing streak in June or July which brings them back to .500 and everyone would be saying don't panic, they are right in this thing. So basically we as the fans would like to have seen a hotter start over the first 50 or so games than what they did. Had they gone 28 - 22 we'd all be singing cum by ahh. However if they have that kind of a stretch over the next 50 games then they are right back in the thick of it. So let them play and they could surprise us, last year they went into sell mode and all of the sudden they made a nice run. Now if they go and have another 50 game stretch like the last one then this year will pretty much be over and they will have to do what they got to do. But right now let them play.
  10. Does Hildenberger normally throw 94 or is the radar gun off??
  11. Seems like we give up on some guys too quickly?
  12. Yeah Solarte Definitely gets more PT, Escobar does spend a lot more time on the pine, but in Solarte's defense, it seems like he also plays a lot of different positions too. So yeah Escobar needs that opportunity to play a full season to see what he can do, looks like he's getting that shot this year.
  13. Everyone responds differently to concussions, Joe and his doctor will make a decision that is best for Joe, you all know that money won't be a factor because he has enough of it, so if his doctor feels that Joe can continue to play with little risk to the rest of his life then I'm pretty sure Joe will probably play. If his doctor tells him that there is significant risk to his well being for the rest of his life then I'm sure Joe will be done. None of us have any idea how Joe's body will respond to this.??. I hope he is fine, but if he isn't then he will have to move on. I mean John Olerud used to play in the field with a batting helmet on because he had a brain aneurysm, I mean how dangerous was that? Any smack to his head and it would have been all over in a matter of seconds. But his doctors felt he was ok.
  14. I wonder what will make some of those analytics change?? Im looking around and there have been a ton of no-hit bids this year and a couple of actual no hitters. It almost appears that with the new style of hitting and such that the pitchers now have the advantage?? Verlander has what a 1.11 era? I mean are they going to have to lower the mound again? Or would changing some strategy maybe make a difference??
  15. Just seems like Solarte is pretty consistent. Escobar can go through periods during a season where he seems unstoppable and can almost carry a team for a small stretch. Solarte doesn't seem like that but just seems more consistent over the long haul.
  16. I think, in my opinion, Solarte is better overall than Escobar. Just my opinion.
  17. Looks like the chariot turned back into pumpkins?
  18. Dang, too bad they couldn't have done something to hold on to him? Could you imagine bringing Pudge in to do some spring training catcher instruction? I mean he'd then get to watch his kid pitch at the same time. Win/win I mean its not like they couldn't use a little extra help coaching catchers?
  19. Dereck Rodriguez former Twins minor leagues, son of Pudge, has been called up to the Giants. Dang it never seemed like he hardly ever made it out of A ball in the Twins organization, but now first year with a new team and he's good enough to be with the big squad?
  20. Also, it would keep Romero's work load down a little so as not to wear him out in his first year in the majors.
  21. There really isn't anyone in the rotation looking terrible right now. When Erv comes back would it be advantageous to go to a 6 man rotation? Especially while Erv is building up stamina. I mean can a 6 man rotation hurt the starters? Especially if they are getting in some bullpens in between starts. Would they potentially be fresher at the end if they are in the hunt for the playoffs? Just some thoughts.
  22. It seems as though the Twins weaknesses have been performing well as of late, bullpen, rotation, whereas their supposed strength, their hitting, has been way way under performing as of late. So I think you have to give them at least the month of June to see if the hitters can turn things around. I mean I have been fairly impressed with the pitching as of late. Any team that can pitch should be considered in the wild card push.
  23. Pressley in the past was way way NSFW. Being if you were watching him at work, within minutes you'd be swearing up a storm, ****, ****, *** **** **, etc... This year he has been relatively safe for work, so far. But yes I agree with the other poster that the whole bullpen is for the most part NSFW.
  24. The PCL is notoriously known to be an extremely friendly hitting league. When the Twins AAA team was is the PCL it seemed like we had the next murderers row coming up, every year. But who care if they give him a shot at AAA?? I don't think he will pan out. Dang I wonder how Byueng ho Park is doing these days???
  25. So I'm assuming that Cave is a better fielder than Grossman, so why do you pinch hit for cave with Grossman when you already have a 2 run lead going into the 9th inning???
