  1. It sure would be nice to have Hader coming in for the 8th.
  2. I think one of the problems is that he is being over used a little. Let's face it, they pulled Harper out and the objective was to get Rogers all the way to Yelich. If the Twins had a better guy or two they would have waited to bring Rogers in when Yelich came up, not 4 hitters ahead of that. For instance that is where guys like Addison Reed, (had he performed like he had in the past), and Fernando Romero or last year Pressly would have come in. Then when they got to Rogers he would have only had to get Yelich and then maybe one more guy after that. The Twins are going to lose a lot of games like this one until they address their bullpen issues. However at least they will often times pound teams into submission where they won't need a perfect bullpen outing.
  3. A return of Tommy "May Day" Milone!!!! Hope he does well!
  4. What is the Status of Mejia? I know he was put on the IL but will he be brought back for the long relief role/lefty when he is healthy?
  5. Well I'd think that yeah, he would be used in situations where there are a few lefties coming up. I mean if you are sitting there as the manager and you have a choice of Parker or Rogers and then you look up at their lineup card and 3 of the next 4 hitters are lefty I'd think that the manager would automatically choose a lefty.
  6. Miguel Sano "Straight ball hit very much, curve ball bats are afraid."
  7. I think some of the excitement was the fact that the Twins showed the ability to go out and sign decent to big named players to supplement their roster. I think that was also the feeling with Duke, Santana, Hughes, Nolasco, etc... Even though some of them didnt work out as well as others it was a feeling that for many year we as Twins fans never got. The willingness to go out and get some help. But as you can see it doesn't always work out and you can't dwell on it, just have to move on and it appears that this front office is doing a way better job of just moving on when things don't work out?
  8. For Lamar Odom in Vegas maybe?
  9. I don't remember who it was, but I remember someone intentionally punching it down the 3rd base line?
  10. When the other team scores 7 runs and you win; that's probably what I consider lucky?
  11. Gee, I wonder if the Twins could use some bullpen help?
  12. I'm glad the Angels used an opener.
  13. I don't like to complain too much, but dang they mess with the fielding positions too much.
  14. I'd love that!!! But I was figuring if he were to have hit 30 homeruns in a full season then 22 would be about what to expect from mid May to the end of the year?? Just a guess.
  15. Hard to have a face of the team when everyone is on a one or two year deal. That leaves Polanco and Kepler as the only real dudes with long term investment into them.
  16. Also reminds me of Jake Taylor in Major League. "How'd you end up back with the Indians?". "Ah, I couldn't cut it in the Mexican Leagues."
  17. Wow, the real Crash Davis??
  18. Wow, I didn't know Japan had minors??
  19. Sano .280 .320 22 Hrs 75 RBI 60 Runs The rest of the way.
  20. Maybe like in Mr Baseball they will find a hole in his swing??
  21. All sports are expensive now adays. My niece is a D 1 basketball player and in high school her Nike national travel team was especially expensive. To be good in today's athletics you need to have trainers, some sort of travel team, specialized coaching at camps, etc..... Most of your NBA players are not showing up out of the hood anymore, they have to have a lot of money for all of the training. I coach wrestling and even that sport is becoming expensive to get good at with camps, J-Rob camp is about 3000 dollars; but now you also have to attend and wrestle at all of the high level national tournaments where the college coaches show up, etc.... Hockey with ice time and all of the gear has been expensive since the beginning of time. But yeah, all poor kids, (in America), have been priced out of most all competitive atheletics and I teach and coach in an impoverished area in California. There are a lot of athletic kids that don't play sports in high school at all because they never grew up doing it, plus now adays kids very rarely go out side to play sports by themselves, it all seems to have to be organized. You never see a bunch of kids at the park playing baseball unless they have uniforms on and there are umpires and stuff. You never see kids just playing basketball in the park, parents don't even let them out of the house these days. The poor kids making it into MLB come from other countries where we set up academies for them to progress.
  22. I wonder where the combo of Castro/Garver/Astrudillo rates in the league offensively??
