  1. He should consider what the score keepers must do when it goes a long ways into extra innings? Is there an official score sheet that goes 18 or more innings? I mean anyone can scribble into the margins and such. So unless there is an official score sheet that lasts that long did it really happen? I mean if Talbot tried to go to a court of law and the official score sheet only goes up to say 9 or 10 innings and then there is a bunch of scribbling on the back of the sheet or in the margins would that really fly in a court of law?? I think he could be in trouble for shoddy accounting. He might be looking for a new job after the lawyers get ahold of this?
  2. You know, I guess after thinking about it, yeah it's a no lose situation, stick him in the minors and see if he can find something? If he doesn't nothing is lost, if he does, everything is gained. I think I have been thinking along the same lines with Ryan Madson, he could come in and be really tough for a couple of months at the end of the season? He has been just two years ago and he pitched in the world series last year so he'd be another one I'd try to bring in, stick him in Rochester for 2 - 3 weeks and see if he can regain some magic?
  3. Well if they wanted a dude with a 6.50 era in the bull pen they could have kept Reed?
  4. But I don't see how someone like Gant would be available.
  5. I wouldn't put it past the Yankees to buy up a couple of guys that would help the Twins and or the Astros and just stash them on their bench so as the Twins and Astros or anyone else that may be in competition with them can't have them.
  6. I agree with you on the numbers, innings etc... But it seems like Rogers comes in during almost every high leverage situation. Today that high leverage situation should have been, in my opinion, when Yelich came to the plate. Not have to take care of the 4 hitters prior and then have to get Yelich. This is where they need another high leverage arm or two. Just some different options.
  7. Yes, my son told me that they said at the beginning of the game there were some technical difficulties so there wouldn't be any radar numbers or strike zone etc...
  8. It sure would be nice to have Hader coming in for the 8th.
  9. I think one of the problems is that he is being over used a little. Let's face it, they pulled Harper out and the objective was to get Rogers all the way to Yelich. If the Twins had a better guy or two they would have waited to bring Rogers in when Yelich came up, not 4 hitters ahead of that. For instance that is where guys like Addison Reed, (had he performed like he had in the past), and Fernando Romero or last year Pressly would have come in. Then when they got to Rogers he would have only had to get Yelich and then maybe one more guy after that. The Twins are going to lose a lot of games like this one until they address their bullpen issues. However at least they will often times pound teams into submission where they won't need a perfect bullpen outing.
  10. Well I'd think that yeah, he would be used in situations where there are a few lefties coming up. I mean if you are sitting there as the manager and you have a choice of Parker or Rogers and then you look up at their lineup card and 3 of the next 4 hitters are lefty I'd think that the manager would automatically choose a lefty.
  11. I'd love that!!! But I was figuring if he were to have hit 30 homeruns in a full season then 22 would be about what to expect from mid May to the end of the year?? Just a guess.
  12. Hard to have a face of the team when everyone is on a one or two year deal. That leaves Polanco and Kepler as the only real dudes with long term investment into them.
  13. I wonder why he doesn't let the silverdome and Astro dome hang out with him for coffee. What does he think he is too good to hang out with other domes??? See even the MD wants to hang out with other open air stadiums. Racist. I wonder if he let's Mike Ditka hang out with him? Didn't he call it a roller dome one time?
  14. We aren't going to make this go away with trades to the Yankees. It came to me in a dream last night, the injury gods started their focus on the Twins when we gave the Red Sox the Holy Grail, David Ortiz, at that point the Red Sox instantly became immune to these Yankee soothsayers, ever since the Babe Ruth trade these Yankees were able to tell the future of the Red Sox based on their stupidity. Once they received the Holy Grail from us for nothing, they were no longer able to do this and it made them very mad, that is why they are focusing on the Twins and sending them their plight. The twins sensed this and even tried to send the Red Sox the anti-christ to their new found Holy Grail in Doug Mientkiewicz, but the future had already been put into motion and nothing could stop what was to come in bean town. The Twins will never please these God's of injury plight by trading the likes of Aaron Hicks to the Yankees, that's not biblical enough. To avert these God's focus the Twins are going to have to trade something to the Red Sox that will once again send bean town into a tailspin. Someone who is Deemed to be really good, but in reality becomes their Achilles heel. Our most perfect opportunity last year would have been sending Brian Dozier to the Red Sox. That's a guy that everyone everywhere feels that needs to play everyday, but now in Washington is hitting .091. it's that kind of catastrophic trade let down that these guys need in order to avert their magic on the Twins. I have no idea who the Twins should send to bean town this year that could break this spell and save the likes of our tourtuga. Maybe Odorizzi?? Is he maybe deemed good enough that they have to start him all of the time, but in the end will let the Bosox down Everytime they face the Yankees?? I'm not sure, but that is what my dreams told me. At least it was the dream in-between the one where I was supposed to make french toast this morning and the other one that told me to take up snowboarding so I could hang out with the swedish bikini team? IDK, it made sense though?
  15. I thought Rogers pitched really well, that was one of those innings where one of the Twins pitchers of the past would have cracked and gave something up; two weak dribblers around a walk and next thing you know we give up a 2 rund double, but no, Rogers kept tough and got them out of the inning. It was nice to see. Also, on Rosario and the Twins. It feels like up to this point so far that the Twins don't have to count on 2 or 3 dudes to make everything happen like in the past. It always seemed like a guy like Rosario would go into a little slump and then the Twins would drop 4 - 5 in a row. Now it just seems like they have someone else that will just step up and make **** happen. Seems like the proverbial team effort. I feel good watching this.
  16. Seems like so far that the guys they signed this year don't seem bitter like a couple of the guys last year did, they seem like positive influences inside the clubhouse. Hopefully that holds up as the young core from this team needs those kind of guys to follow.
  17. He could be that type of guy that doesn't make excuses?? I know that comes more from the old guard, but that could just be the way he is.
  18. Go out and get Kimbrel right now, after a couple of weeks May becomes your Romero as Kimbrel takes over the 9th.
  19. Is it just me, or does it look like Romero should be sent back down? Seems like he has gotten shelled and seems to be walking a lot of guys? Like to see him get it going in the right direction again.
  20. Yeah, my point was that none of those guys were big splash guys and that bullpen was solid. So hopefully they do well this year.
  21. However, right now seeing Reed, Duffy and Hildendinger isn't exciting me a whole lot. Like I said in the above is that those guys looked tough in spring training. Not like Reed has so far, those guys weren't getting lit up in the spring. So I'm not sold yet, I am hoping for the best though!
