  1. Couldn't disagree more. The local media is very mediocre on traditional sources sans Russo and Bernidino. Have you listened to radio in other cities? I'm guessing not much. Danny B. is not respected by most I know. Any friends who listen to him listen for guests or because there is nothing else on. They've had very little competition, and when they have it's mainly ex KFAN employees. His knowledge is very limited besides Hoosier basketball and Bears football. He's a bully plain and simple. His shows not an act, have you ever met him? Mrs. B is very nice though.
  2. If you compare him to the "hosts" around him he is amazing! In fairness, I haven't listened to KFAN for years now. I'll start again the day Danny B leaves, now that's a guy who needs to hit the road.
  3. They need pitching MLB ready or close to MLB ready. It would be a mistake to have one of the main players coming back in this trade 4 years out. Someone smarter than I am told me decades ago that a prospect is not really a prospect until they reach AA. They need to get this trade right, this is not the trade to go for :upside".
  4. This is possible. If there really are only 2-3, they are vocal enough to be 10.
  5. My comments were not from just this thread or forum, but the minor league forum comments as well. There are a group of posters here who believe that Walker is going to be a very good major league player and have voiced angst over the last year or two. I don't get it. To each their own.
  6. He interests me as well. He also could be helpful now and into the future when the team is ready.
  7. Heineman, Rojas Jr., or Wren? Or do we just go for a pitcher?
  8. I like Grossman as a part time bench player. Would love to have someone like him PH in late innings. Vargas is either the DH or in AAA I think. I suspect he'll be on the team at some point due to results or injuries.
  9. The Walker angst is starting to get close to the Arcia angst, and I frankly don't understand either of them.
  10. Interesting trade idea, but the more players you add into a deal the harder it is to get done.
  11. He did say arguably. Mack certainly was the catalyst of that team. I thought Shannon Stewart was very similar a decade later.
  12. I agree with this, the pitchers need all the help they can get, and we just are not good enough defensively at SS right now. I like Polanco better at 2nd base. If Vielma or someone similar is in the mix, would they consider a late innings SS replacement putting him in and limiting at bats? You rarely see it at SS, but I hope they at least think about it.
  13. Now at 195. I was having a hard time deciding between Harper and Mack.
  14. So you are saying he doesn't care about winning and is not playing his best QB? That he'd rather have Leidner feel good about himself than keep a job or have a chance at a big raise with a big season? That makes zero sense. If you don't like Claeys, who is going come here and do better? Name some names.
  15. I've been going to Gopher games since 1988. I would like to think the Gophers are building a program where 8 wins is expected and on occasional they will win the west. In other words, doing what Nebraska, Iowa, and Wisconsin are doing. Even after today's loss, they have won 8 games 3 of 4 seasons, something that hasn't been done in 100 years. This is not the same old Gophers...Cupcake schedule? They lost at a top 10 Wisconsin team today that they were outplaying for three quarters. They lost at a top 10 PSU team in overtime by 3. They lost at a top 20 Nebraska team by 7 and were a the Nebraska 15 yard line late. This staff clearly has missed at QB, but overall if you can't see them close the gap on Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska I don't know what to tell you. The team only loses 13 seniors, I'm hopeful they can keep it going. If they fall back a few seasons, then you make a change. Don't make the Brewster mistake again.
  16. Good counter point, although Cleveland's 41st player is better than some on our roster. The reason I think it's possible is no one really blows me away as the top prospect to pick first. A bunch of guys with no control, a couple guys who had career seasons, a few that are far away from the bigs and would sit at the end of the bench collecting dust.
  17. Richard Pitino would have been the choice, you know it is going to be someone at the U if there is an option giving Pat's background. Going after the football team is a joke. They had the 2nd hardest schedule in the country and a won their bowl game. The team has won 8 games again this year and is in better place. But Fat Pat had to take a swipe, probably because of his own personal failures at the U and his being 100% wrong about Kill. It is comical that he can't admit being wrong. In a society that is so against anti bullying everywhere, I'm amazed Minnesota sports fan love two of the biggest bullies, Pat and Barreiro. Neither has an original thought, neither can defend a position when confronted, neither is insightful or entertaining. I unfortunately have met both in person, the "personality" is not an act, both are 100% dbags in person. Mrs. Barreiro on the other hand is a nice woman, talk about opposites.
  18. So we want to add another Pat Light? I bet they select a player from Cleveland's minors that Falvey knows.
  19. I'm fine with the signing, but you bring up his questionable skills that I would argue are more important than framing. Questionable blocking skills and a noodle arm shouldn't be taken lightly because of framing numbers.
  20. You think framing a pitch is much more valuable than communicating with a pitcher? I will respectfully disagree. Falvey may value framing more than I do, but I suspect the signing is not solely base on framing. I think game calling/communication whatever else you want to add is extremely undervalued these days because the computer nerds can't find a way to quantify it. If they could put a fancy little number next to it, then they would sell it. Is framing useful? Of course it is, but but it is not in the top 5 things I'd look for in a catcher. Maybe at 41, I'm an "old" baseball coach. /rant.
  21. Best post thus far in the thread by a mile. Far more important than perceived "framing".
  22. Hawk is a good dude, glad he is back in the fold.
  23. Could you expand on the clubhouse cancer comment? I'm not remembering him being a lockerroom problem, but I am getting older and more forgetful.
  24. BINGO! We've seen all kinds of prospects play multiple positions in the minors, why wasn't Sano in RF 25 games or more a year then? Because Terry made a stupid signing and painted himself into a corner.
  25. I really like Gordon, but I completely agree with your point. Minor league players on this site= NFL backup QB. They are everyone's favorites. Until they make the show, then they are part of the problem.
