  1. August 3rd if you do it right now, and they don't seem to be. It makes more sense to me to wait till 2017 spring training, although I'm not sure Ryan will even do it then. I suspect if Santana is traded (and I would bet 65/35 he won't be) I see the following: Gibson Nolasco Berrrios Duffy Bargin bin Veteran to mentor/ innings eater (which is why Ryan will keep Santana) Wheeler gets first look when Nolasco or Gibson hits the DL.
  2. What has Meyer done to deserve this tag? I'm all for getting him back to the bigs before the end of the season, but the kid hasn't show he can handle it yet.
  3. lol, you'd rather Rosario gets caught three steps off of third base.
  4. Ummmm, if it is run on contact you are running on contact. Not waiting for it to get anywhere near the shortstop. Not sure what you don't understand about it. The situation is the nano second the ball hits the bat you are running, that's the situation.
  5. 1:10pm game starts 1:10:01pm Texas leads 1:11pm a walk I already miss yesterday.
  6. Santana in CF today.
  7. A one tool player who either has lost the one tool he had, or the league figured out how to pitch to him and he never adjusted. I guess Tampa could straighten him out, maybe a change of scenery will be good for him. He was downright awful here, and I question anyone's sanity who actually thought he should be anything more than a DH/PH. Add to that, not only was he striking out 45% of the time, but they were some pretty brutal give away at-bats where he didn't even challenge the pitcher and looked like he had zero plan at the plate. Seemed like a good teammate and a decent kid, so I wish him well.
  8. All one has to do is consider the source of the article. How he has a job is beyond me.
  9. See what you have with the players who have earned it. The notion of giving Reed or Burdi a free pass to the big leagues is a huge mistake imo. I absolutely agree with playing Polanco, Buxton, and Kepler. I guess you can play Arcia, but I'm not a fan. One trick pony who isn't doing the one thing he supposedly does well.
  10. They also said Sano wouldn't play third base at all, that his spot was RF. And then they put him there for 5 games. The whole deal doesn't make much sense regardless of what the FO really thinks.
  11. Correct me if I am off, but I believe he was 7-47 before the leg kick and 7-17 with it. Extremely small sample size, but encouraging still. Getting him on base regularly should jump start this offense a bit.
  12. This topic sadly reminds me what is needed most, new owners. New owners wouldn't keep the status quo.
  13. I'm hopeful, but I don't see a month in Rochester changing a whole lot. At least he should have gained some confidence crushing AAA pitching. Leg kick? I'm skeptical, that might help him stay in balance, but I'm not sure that was the issue. He needs to hit the ball on the ground more and bunt on occasion. He needs to use all his skill set. Also, Bonnes thanks for throwing out the first pitch at the Hawks game.
  14. So who are you going to put out there? May? He's doing the same thing. I don't see a closer currently on the staff. I guess the hope is Chargois becomes the guy.
  15. Sano dropped a ball and Nunez misplayed a double or it wouldn't have been so bad. Not anything to be thrilled about, but not his "worst save" let alone all-time.
  16. True, but I think any decreased talent in the next two or three years should be outweighed by being comfortable in everyday life and in the games. I know the human side of baseball is frowned apon in place of metrics, but this is my .02.
  17. Young talent producing with an AL Central title sure would be nice right about now.
  18. I would: Trade Nunez tomorrow before the hot streak wears off. Trade the following: Arcia, Vargas, Dozier, Plouffe, Gibson. Probably would be able to trade two or three at most. Keep: Park. Too much money invested, he is playing better than I expected while making a huge life change to the US. If anything, I see him getting better. Seems like a smart kid who has his head on straight. I would be talking to the Rockies about AAA catcher Tom Murphy. That's my favorite catching name right now. Probably a long shot, but we could make a case with a package.
  19. With all due respect, Walker is striking out 50% of the time at AAA. He doesn't need a spot opened up.
  20. We needed that extra inning + to determine he was "crap!"
  21. Fair enough, but then want value does he even have and why not put him in AAA to hopefully build some value?
  22. I completely agree with this. What is/are the counter move(s) that make this necessary? Doesn't make sense, although I don't know what players are on the list of TBNL.
  23. I like Rosario, but you are right about him. My problem with sending him down, is I don't want to see Buxton for at least another month. I want to see Buxton have a nice run at AAA to give him the confidence and show consistency before another shot. Kepler also needs to play, I see them both up for good at the trade deadline. I don't see what trading Polanco does for you. He can't have much value not playing at all. If you want to trade an infielder it has to be Plouffe or Dozier. I like them both and would hate to see them go, but they have some value. Would trading Dozier get you a good C or SP prospect close to the majors? I guess I don't know... I agree with trading Arcia, want can you get with a one dimensional guy? We need some more table setters too. Could Mauer, Buxton, and Polanco be those guys? If Gordon could get here in 2018, that would definitely help. We need speed.
