  1. Chief Jr II and mate are going, wish I could join them.
  2. I think what will be remembered 10 years from now is which team won the World Series.
  3. I'm "balls to the wall" at work when the situation calls for it...like running hard when I put a ball in play. Other times at work I can relax a bit, like sitting on the bench waiting for my turn at bat. I can assure you all my employers expected me to know the difference, and put forth the effort when called for. I suspect you're no different.
  4. you should'a stuck around for the game. Pregame field prep is fascinating, sure, but the game is neat, too.
  5. Slowing down after making the decision not to go to third is quite different than not running out of the box. And dragging injury into this is completely off base.
  6. Stretching a double into a triple is on the runner, not the third base coach, same as going first to third on a single. The decision to go for third is made before Rosario reaches second base, and is made by him as he judges the location of the ball and the outfielders.
  7. The score is mostly irrelevant, but in fact the score was 2-1 when Eddie got thrown out at third base to end the inning. Steve Stone calling him out has nothing to do with any of this, by the way, other than it was a way to introduce footage, and as a side benefit, show that we're not the only ones who noticed. For the record, Steve Stone is one of the absolute best announcers in TV today, knows the game extremely well, and regularly calls out the Sox when warrented. He's pretty funny as well.
  8. If Pete had any business sense, he would'a turned hisself into a one stop shop for post season to-do's. He'd also lock down the market on the 6 mil plastic sheeting they use to waterproof the locker room, and stock up on cheap champaigne. Have some "Minnesota Twins 2019 ALC Champions!!!" T-shirts already printed and overpriced. Small time businesspersons stay small because they just don't see the big picture.
  9. If any plans on attending any AFL games, let me know and I'll see if I can drive up and join you.
  10. Were this an isolated incident, it wouldn't bother me as much. A lot to like, but I've grown tired of Rosario's act. Every catch is an excuse to showboat (which has already resulted in one dropped ball this year). Wild throws that more than offset the good ones. He "styles" too much for my tastes. Lack of hustle out of the box. A lot in common with Yasiel Puig, IYAM. Really no option to bench him now though. I wouldn't mind an offseason trade.
  11. The slumping Castro has an OPS over 100 pts higher than Astudillo. He isn't even a fun story anymore.
  12. Rosario got thrown out at third, with 2 out, in a one run game. It's inexcusable, and that's ignoring the fact he sat at home plate admiring his "shot." Bad play is bad play, and it's ok to point it out.
  13. Idorizzi's stuff wasnt the greatest tonight? I thought he had fantastic stuff. Some nitpics on the game: the first run is on Arraez at least as much as Odorizzi, that "double" should have been caught. Pretty bad baserunning by Rosario getting thrown out at third. Get em tomorrow.
  14. I'll be shocked if Perez doesnt start a game 3. I'd have said Gibson, but I just dont think he's healthy enough to make the postseason roster. Couple starts potentially left in the regular season for Gibson, if he does well, it'll be him. I'd be very surprised by anything else than one of these two.
  15. He has been amazing, but color me skeptical. If he can continue to hit .350, and draw some walks on top of that sure, he's really valuable. But it's really hard to hit .350, and it's hard to continue to draw walks when you present no power threat. He's also a weak armed, moderately slow infielder, so it's going to be hard to provide much value elsewhere. Hope he can keep it up, but I'm going to need to see a couple years of this to fully buy in. All that said, ride this wave right through the WS.
  16. Last walk off HBP in MLB? 8-31-17: Chicago at Minnesota. After the White Sox take a 4-3 lead in the top of the 9th, Max Kepler's 2 out HBP drives in Brian Dozier to complete a 2 run rally. Winning pitcher: Matt Belisle.
  17. Arraez Arraez Arraez Arraez Arraez Arraez Arraez Arraez Garver
  18. I doubt there was or is any consideration of Romero for the post season roster. Nor would a good outing today have changed that.
  19. Schoop started the game winning rally in game 2 Saturday, and made 2 really nice defensive plays that were pretty important in that game. Schoop isnt a great player, and Mike's probably right about spending his money elsewhere next year, but he's contributed many times to this year's team.
