  1. Concur. Shoemaker's Twins career is already 11 starts too long.
  2. Don't be so hard on yourself. I mean, yeah, you're no Einstein, but I wouldn't say you're a tool.
  3. We WON a game!!1! Also, Dan Gladden is awesome.. Today's broadcasting excellence: "Sano hits this one deep to left...this could be a no doubter..." Could be a no doubter? Is that like...jumbo shrimp?
  4. If Shoemaker isn't DFA'd today, Falvine should be.
  5. Celestino certainly fits right in.
  6. Anyone else catch the disgust with which Provus described Simmons making an out on the bases, while trailing by multiple runs late? Even the perpetually positive Cory Provus couldn't hide his feelings about the awful play of this team. Speaking of that play...simply terrible baseball. Incredibly terrible. It's one thing to lack talent. But Rocco's team lacks the simple ability to play the game. They lack precision, fundamentals, smarts. They did that even when 300 HRs glossed it over, and it's gotten progressively worse.
  7. The crappy ass Twins Somehow produced only three Which were just enough.
  8. Simmons is on a 1 year deal. Might as well deal him too, if there's a market.
  9. Five runs in 4 and a third is a "solid outing" for Shoemaker? Perhaps that's one of our problems.
  10. You know what they say...**** Happens.
  11. Happily, as it Happens.
  12. They are who we thought they were. -D Green
  13. It's not exactly controversial to prefer hits over walks. Ideally, you get a hitter who does both. But walks without hits never lasts, won't happen against good pitching, not to mention a walk is worth less than even a single. I want to know a hitter's BA, in addition to his OBP and SLG.
  14. Also...someone DESIGNED those hats?? Yeesh.
  15. Refsnyder got to the majors in 2015, at age 24.
  16. Their failure to build this year's bullpen means they have "plenty of time" to build the next one? And they start on that by trading one of the few talented pen arms they have? I can understand trading Rogers, but doing so will be about hope for 2023 and beyond, not 2022.
  17. The Twins should absolutely market Berrios. No brainer. He's not going to sign here, and he's not really all that good anyway. More name and hope than production. As for Buxton, make him the best offer you can. If he accepts, hope he stays healthy. If he declines, market him as well. Sell everybody on a one year deal, listen to offers for Kepler.
  18. Every person on the field, in both dugouts, and both bullpens--including Mercedes--knew what the issue was. Complain about unwritten rules if you will, but dont pretend he didn't know them.
  19. I could not disagree more. I love the fact there are norms and expected behavior in major league baseball. And BTW, the "unwritten rules" prevent way more conflict than they cause. Every person on both teams knew exactly what was wrong with that 3-0 swing. I only wish Duffey had buried a FB in the guy's ribs.
  20. Kudos to Sano. And huge kudos to Duffey for showing some indication somebody on this team gives a ****.
  21. The whole idea of "#5 starter" is a false concept anyway. Starts by every member of the rotation count the same. Don't sign below average guys to take 20 percent of your starts. Sign above average guys. Trade for above average guys. The games started by your "5th starter" count just as much as your "number 1" starter. Aim for 5 number 1's. Or 6, or 8.
  22. There wasn't even any need to communicate. Rortvedt is facing third base, the play is right in front of him. He can SEE the runner from 2nd almost to third by the time he throws. All he has to do is NOT throw. A little league catcher makes that play.
  23. And personally, I hope Garver goes on a hot streak, so he can be dumped at the deadline. His defense is just too bad.
  24. Does this manager spend ANY time at all, spring training or regular season, drilling the basics of how to play the game of baseball into his team?
