  1. Surely we can find a better option than Solano, no?
  2. Gallo has 7 innings in CF since 2019. Edit: ninja'd, and reninja'd Concur with stringer. Gallo ain't getting CF time, and that's a good thing.
  3. "Interesting Fact: Two Twins legends, Rod Carew and Torii Hunter, took deals with the Angels after a long battle with the front office over salaries." There was certainly salary acrimony, but Carew didn't leave as a free agent. The Twins traded Carew to the Angels in Feb 79, for Kenny Landreaux and 3 others of little consequence.
  4. The Twins haven't won a road series since opening the season in KC. About time.
  5. I don't know how anyone can still claim there are "low leverage " spots in a modern bullpen. They don't exist. Every single guy out there is going to be asked to pitch in close games. Every single guy. We deserve all the gut wrenching losses we accumulate for planning otherwise.
  6. Ignoring the bullpen over the winter was some pretty questionable front officing. Now you're stuck until you have the chance to outbid everyone else in July.
  7. Pagan is just today's manifestation of the real issue: the failure to address a thin bullpen over the winter. Now it's too late. You're stuck with what you have (2 deep in the pen, hopefully a little from Thielbar at some point) until July at least, when you'll pay a premium for the few if any real upgrades that come available.
  8. Once again, we see why good hitters make you get them out with strikes. And once again we see why RBI are so incredibly important. And RBI are not an "Opportunity stat." Some guys work the pitcher, and more often than not get the job done. And some don't
  9. PHing Solano is some really bad managing.
  10. Not sure what made me think of this, but I'm reminded of when I took Mrs Chief to the hospital for the birth of our 1st child. I was pretty freaked out, worrying about her health. I remember she started yelling at me and I just got so scared. "Couldn't!" she yelled at the top of her lungs. "Wouldn't!" "Can't! Won't! Hasn't!" Just then the doctor walked in and I frantically asked him what the heck is going on? He looked at be, a little bemused, and said "relax, Chief. She's just started with the contractions."
  11. He hasn't. For one thing, he hasn't had command of that running 2 seamer that clips the inside corner to lefties.
  12. SHUT UP ABOUT THE HOMERLESS STREAK FOR GRAY, DICK!!
  13. July and August were putrid, September really good. Add it all up and at the end it was a 117 OPS+ with 60 XBH's. He's still a quality hitter IMO.
  14. He carved up Heyward pretty good. And out of the inning
  15. Polonco would have had it, but that's Kirilloff's play to make. Get the lead runner with an outside shot at turning two. He just booted it.
  16. Hey, didn't you used to be Carlos Correa?
  17. JD Martinez still fits in the top 5 of a lot of MLB lineups.
  18. 74 pitch complete games... https://www.mlb.com/video/silva-s-74-pitch-complete-game
