  1. was just thinking the same thing. A little attitude re-adjustment.
  2. Pujols sure aired that one out
  3. Hit by pitch on the 14th. X-ray showed no broken bones
  4. Rosario in CF for second consecutive game. Good / Bad omen for Buxton?
  5. HEY!! Jared Weaver is still a Major League pitcher. Let us not underestimate the Twins ability to defile corpses.
  6. "He needed 94 innings (58 strikes) to get through five innings." Probably just seemed like 94 innings :-)
  7. Dick Brenner: Watching 3 things at once: Sano, Nunez, Mauer and the runner.
  8. The thing I've noticed about Mauer the past couple years is the frequency of "topping" the ball: like you wrote, Brock. Grounder after grounder to 2B. This year, I've hardly seen that. More solid contact, more hits. Like his liner to left last night. As many have predicted, it looks like the concussion symptoms may be over.
  9. What? Punto is available?
  10. Still not seeing Meyer as a relief pitcher. I hope this start will inspire him to embrace being a starter.
  11. .....while riding in a Ferrari
  12. I actually looked up this trade after posting: Kevin Correia. Remember that one? Traded to the Dodgers, lasted 9 game / 3 starts.
  13. A trade of a more than serviceable [ 2nd on team in HR's, 1st in RBI's ] for nothing? Just to move him out of the way? On the other end of the trade, I'm pretty sure the other team would request money to pay for some of Plouffe's salary. If you're trading him for that little, he can't be worth that salary. Sano was supposed to get some OF training during the winter leagues. Not sure how much happened or why/who ended it. Sano didn't play OF in the minors because he came in as a shortstop and simply outgrew the position AND the Twins were simply trying to maintain his value as a power-hitting infielder by moving him to 3rd. Who wouldn't? On the other side, Sano has the ability to out hit his defensive liabilities. Probably by a lot. I probably would have left him at DH, at least for now. Just let him hit, worry more about position next year. Here's hoping Roc Nation get's in his ear.
  14. Ok, I can buy the idea that the Red Sox, now, would probably prefer Plouffe over Sandoval. Especially with this coming out: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/redsox/2016/04/15/pablo-sandoval-former-trainer-babysitter/83072388/
  15. From whom? That's the question
  16. The entire starting outfield is either under performing or we're seeing what they really are, without the hype. Murphy WILL be starting somewhere. Of that I have not doubt. Who does he replace? My vote, as much as I like him, is Eddie Rosario. Why? I think he needs an attitude adjustment. Why not Buxton? His hitting problems are pretty well known. That will take more to fix. Sano? Same in RF and he was at 3B: he can catch what he can reach. A career DH, IMHO. Just let him hit and next year make a semblance of actually finding a position for him.
  17. Thanks! I remembered it was Baltimore, couldn't remember the year.
  18. ...and the new Twins GM is: The Violator http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMjA4MzE1MjI5MV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTYwMDk2NjE3._V1_SX640_SY720_.jpg
  19. Aug 10, 2014: Kevin Correia [ 5-13 with a 4.94 ERA ] traded to the Dodgers for cash or a player to be named later. Twins took the cash.
  20. From MLB Rumors: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/minnesota-twins A little snippet: "That means one of Eddie Rosario, Byron Buxton or Miguel Sano is on the hot seat in terms of his starting job, per Neal." Personally, based only on what Rosario and Sano did last year: Buxton is getting a bus ticket.
  21. "should the Twins look at themselves as sellers this season?" Who on earth would buy what the Minnesota Twins are willing to sell?
  22. For a moment there last night, I thought Buxton had it figured out. In his first AB [ I believe ] he worked the count, fouled off some pitches close to the plate and worked to a full count. 3 more foul balls on close pitches. I'm yelling at the TV "my god, he's figured it out". Then the old Buxton returned, swinging at a ball that almost hit the dirt. I don't know what the answer is for Buxton. The progress is there, just not MLB quality yet. His swing mechanics and overall plate presence are better. And then they suddenly disappear. I'd give to May Day and re-evaluate.
