  1. I think Reusse is hilarious! And the more I think of it, Buxton starting in CF makes a lot of sense. Just look to the right at the 265 lbs guy. 1st time in the outfield, too.
  2. Absolutely. I think this is going to be a fun year. I see a continuation of last year: slowly adding the latest MiLB up-and-comers to the MLB roster. I love that about baseball!
  3. I think people are trying to read way to much into Molitor's statement. I think he has 2 reasons for saying what he said: Suzuki has worked with these pitchers for a couple years now. He knows how they like to pitch and what pitch they like to use in certain situations. He wanted to get all the BS out of the way.
  4. Molitor has said that Suzuki is the starting catcher. Which makes a lot of sense because he has the experience with the Twins pitchers. Murphy seems like a bright kid with a future.
  5. Nope. I'm still seeing your name up top.
  6. Pretty cool stuff. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
  7. Seth, I think you're right on about Buxton. With Sano in RF, there's a real need for a guy with the defensive skills like Buxton in CF. But he really needs to show improvement at the plate, not in stats. I would like to see the Twins just hand him the job; stunting his further development in not a good idea. I understand the SP situation: there's contracts and money involved. I believe the Twins got a little too jumpy on all those signings, i.e. now seemingly blocking a guy like Berrios and putting something of a block on Duffey's return. Watching the bullpen evolve should be fun! Arcia: man, I hope he's successful. If that would happen, then there would be a need for a pretty large rotation of Arcia, Sano, Mauer, Park and maybe even Plouffe. I just don't see a guy who strikes out as much as Arcia as a bench player.
  8. Oh, man... I started something again, didn't I. But, competition is always good! I'd love to be down at SP and watch the slug it out. Literally!!
  9. I'd like to see Arcia earn that starting RF spot. Make him and Sano fight for it. That would be some fun! At the same time, I'm a little leery about Arcia. What happened last year? Was it an injury? I seem to remember that Arcia has has some back/hip issues. It's really really early, but I'd like to see Arcia take the outside pitch and hit it to left. He's gotta get over that pull everything mentality. Trey Cabbage: always nice to read about young players who get's what needs to be done.
  10. A little surprised he hasn't worn them before.
  11. The Hot Stove League lives on! I love this time of year.
  12. I haven't bothered to look it up, but seems like over the past few years, Nolasco has pitched slightly over the number of inning as a starter than a typical long relief pitcher. Sounds like the ideal candidate. A couple LOOGY's seem to be necessary. I agree with those saying that it may just be a MiLB to MLB rotation this year. Which can be good.
  13. Thanks for the info. The past couple years, I've watched Twins game via the MLB preview channel. Sometimes 8 games on one screen. Kinda hard to watch :-)
  14. Off topic, but I have no place else to ask, other than relatives. Ain't going there What's the best TV package to get to see ALL Twins games. I have Roku, so there are some apps out there and I have DirecTV, so there's Fox Sports North. Also have access to MLB.com, but it looks like they only show out of market games. I want it all: Spring Training, home and away games.
  15. Would have been, could have been, should have been. I think we pretty much know how this will play out. He who has the contract gets the job. However, I'm also on the side that says: if another pitcher forces the issue, they get the job. Duffey [after the horrible decision to bring him up against a Blue Jays team that just reloaded] pitched very well and deserves a shot at starting. Berrios was protected. The Twins follow a loose rule that says you allow a young starter to pitch an increased number of pitches per year. MiLB.com says 166 for the year. I'd say he's ready for the next step, and in the MLB. I'd like to see both force this issue during Spring Training.
  16. Heck, I don't know why teams have scout at all! Because they can always call you and ask for the statistics. Done with you.
  17. Not at $8-9 mil.
  18. You're a funny guy: you want to use statistics, then think they'll apply to 3 games. Statistical analysis is a useful tool. In the end, players will still be judged by the "eye test".
  19. Arcia in a platoon makes the most sense. Coming off the bench; not so much.
  20. Santana: separate the SS Santana from the CF Santana and how do the stats look? And I'm just not a real big believer in BABIP. It seems like a stat built in search of a problem. Moving him back to the OF seems to make a lot of sense. Worse case: be-all utility man. Arcia: I don't get the love for this guy coming off the bench. Lot's of K's, poor defense. Without consistent reps, I don't see where his power level would be sustainable. Tonkins: You've got to give him a real chance.
  21. Why Byron Buxton Will Win The Job: Because the Twins want him to." Yeah, duh I wonder how much it will take in SP to make this happen? IF, Buxton is going to be a lead-off hitter, he'll need to show better plate discipline and take some walks. Can he show that in SP? I'm just not feeling it. But it would be great to see him make it happen. "Why Danny Santana Will Win The Job: Santana already has some experience playing center in the big leagues, having performed well there as a rookie in 2014. His dynamic speed would be welcome in the lineup." Nice to see someone drinking that HitInAPinch Koolaid I like Santana and would like to see him get a shot. Rosario in CF: and what human statue will they put in LF? Ryan Sweeney, Darin Mastroianni, Joe Benson: The Three No's
  22. Suzuki's biggest problem last year was exhaustion.
  23. Quentin decided to make a comeback in November and didn't get signed until February. His agent shopped him around and it wasn't until the Twins picked up the phone did he get an invite. It was a generous thing for the Twins to do. I wouldn't read anything else into this.
