  1. I agree totally with the overmanaging. I'm trying to recall other situations... was it Friday that they called for a hit and run with Escobar on 1st and one of the worst contact hitters in baseball (Rosario) at the plate?
  2. Yeah except that OPS means very little when he's batting with 2 outs and no one on base. But sure, we should continue to give Santana and Rosario more at bats than him
  3. Any idea why Mauer hitting 2nd this year lasted all of 2 games? Does he move back there today?
  4. Oh trust me, I am in no way giving them a pass for it. I'm agreeing with you. I think it's absolutely crazy that they could be so ill prepared for this. I could've told you in October they wouldn't get a big return for Plouffe.
  5. Because they did not expect to win the bidding on Park, and did not expect there to be no trade market for an ok at best 3rd baseman making $8 million. I really think it is as simple as that, as stupid as it may sound. Complete panic by a short sighted organization
  6. There's 2.3 million reasons he will be!
  7. The guy who batted Danny Santana 2nd the last 3 nights is the one we have faith in... I hope this is rock bottom
  8. Now if Fien just gets whiplash after the next rocket he gives up the roster will be set!
  9. Might be the best thing that's happened to the Twins this year. Molitor can't hit him 2nd if he's on the DL
  10. This Danny Santana obsession from Molitor is going to be the end of me. Why exactly do we think he's different or better than Gardenhire at this point?
  11. It's too bad baseball has that rule that doesn't allow you to use your closer who hasn't pitched yet this year with a 1 run lead in the 8th, especially since a LH led off for the Royals
  12. I would not have. How many balls does Nunez score on that Mauer doesn't in that situation? 1 of 20?
  13. Agree with all points. If Arcia isn't going to hit for Santana in the 9th he should not be on the roster (he should've hit, and should be on roster, FYI)
  14. I was pretty adamant about not hitting Escobar 1 or 2, but in my defense I didn't know the alternative would be Danny freaking Santana becoming the 2 hitter
  15. The only thing that sucks more than the bullpen right now is the manager.
  16. Since he was the 1st player that popped into my mind when I thought about low obp outfielder... Mark Trumbo has a career obp of .300, probably a reasonable guess for Rosario at this point. He's had 22, 29, 32, 34 home run seasons, and reached the .800 ops mark only 1 time, with a career mark of .758. I think the .459 slg% Rosario put up last year may end up being a career high... Hard to see him ever approaching those triple numbers again. I'll predict something like .270/.300/.400 this year. I agree with those that said LF is Keplers most likely spot this year
  17. 2 of the ~25 on ESPN.com did... why do we care? The AL Central is good, the Twins shouldn't be favored (doesn't mean they can't win it)
  18. This is a particularly odd one, because he hasn't struggled at any point thus far. Literally all we have seen of Sano is his dominating Major League pitchers and practically single handily keep the Twins in the playoff race (WHILE PLAYING HURT) when veterans like Dozier and Perkins collapsed. And oh ya, he was 22 and coming off a missed season. I would've thought it would at the minimum wait until he drops a ball in RF and has a week long slump.
  19. You are back to saying things that are just patently false. There is not one shred of evidence that supports your claim that he does not care about being great. You know absolutely nothing about how his offseason went. You know nothing about how often he works out. You know nothing about what he eats. What we do know, is that he is a monster 22 year old who is still growing... and has a great chance to be one of the best hitters in the American League this year
  20. Totally forgot Sanchez was 4th in Cy Young voting a few years ago. That said, I'll still take Gibson over him if I'm given the choice of either this year.
  21. I agree with basically all of this, but there's no way I would prefer Anibal Sanchez to Kyle Gibson, or even Erv for that matter
  22. Plouffe is not a real option at SS, 2B, Cf. I think it's fair to say he's also not a real option in LF or RF either, because if he was he would be playing it on Opening day for the Twins
  23. There is no need to put him on the 40 man until he is going to be on the 25. Not being on the 40 man will in no way effect when he makes the 25. The only thing keeping him off both right now is the health of veterans with big contracts. He'll be up soon
