  1. Good point with Hughes on the mound, and like I said I'm glad Kepler is playing. I just wonder if this means Park is further in the "doghouse" than we realize.
  2. Do you believe there was no injury when he was throwing 90 at the end of March and gave multiple indignant responses to anyone questioning the velocity? If no, then when do you believe the injury happened, after or during the terrible inning he had Sunday (which he did complete).
  3. Yeah I'm glad Kepler is starting as well, but interesting that its for Park, and not Rosario with the lefty on the mound.
  4. There is any excuse for tweeting vile, over the top things @ pro athletes, or especially their significant others. That being said, her post was about how much money he makes, and how the criticism he receives is undeserved because none of us are perfect. It is certainly true that none of us are perfect, when I screw up at work, no one tweets about it, talks about it on radio, etc.... but I also don't make anywhere near the amount of money she was all too happy to point out on multiple occasion he makes. If a baseball player doesn't want to be criticized, he doesn't have to play baseball...
  5. I think the point she was attempting to make was valid enough (losers sending death threats, etc. to athletes after they have bad outings)... she came across in how she wrote it pretty terribly...
  6. I think you misunderstood the joke. I was mocking a "blog" written by Perkins wife where she said in her own words, anyone who is mad that he blew saves is just jealous because he is doing something all of you could only dream of. Also, they flaunted the Porsche all over social media, around the same time as that blog, and his awful 2nd half.
  7. No need to feel bad for him, he lives a life and makes more money than you could only dream of... if you don't believe me, his wife will tell you. Oh ya, and he has a Porsche
  8. 2 weeks ago..... “Honestly, I could care less what it is,’’ Perkins said. “I haven’t uncorked a [regular-season] pitch. I don’t really see a point in me wowing anybody right now.’’ “I will be right where I need to be once the season starts and as we get going,’’ he said. Pretty typical Perkins, gets shelled and suddenly has an "injury" again. Maybe he could've told the team in March he was hurt and they would be 1-6.....
  9. Or maybe it's over-rating a "strong finish to SP" *By the way, I assume SP = Spring Training
  10. Obviously. What I simply meant was I'm not trying to rehash the Sano argument for the 1000th time. I was replying to a post that talked about lineup construction, and offered my opinion.... IGNORING Sano (which is another point in favor of trading Plouffe), there are too many RH low obp high K bats in this lineup, that is one of the 5 reasons I would've traded Plouffe.
  11. Without rehashing old discussions that have been beaten to death... I'm simply trying to ignore Sano for now, and say I don't like Plouffe in the lineup period, once they made the decision Park would be in the lineup. I think it is 1 too many low obp high strikeout right handed bat. I like Kepler more
  12. And it's been part of my continuing argument that Plouffe should have been traded. The lineup construction makes very little sense, completely ignoring the fact they're playing Sano in RF. Too many low obp right handed bats.
  13. We know why they kept Arcia, I would have as well. We don't know why they are refusing to use him. Hell, they had Eduardo Nunez pinch hit in the 9th yesterday
  14. I found the quote - it was in Charley Walters column on Sunday Jim Pohlad said Molitor, 59, can manage his club as long as he wants. “That’s what I’m saying right now, that’s for sure,” Pohlad said last week. The Twins fired Ron Gardenhire as manager after 13 seasons. “It does become apparent to everybody at some point that it’s time for a new message, which isn’t about the person,” Pohlad said. “I don’t anticipate that happening with Paul. “(Managing) is not an easy job. It’s grueling for a person to manage. Aside from the pressure of winning and losing, it’s just a grueling schedule. It’s a lot of responsibility.” Pohlad added that he “doesn’t have any interest in those contracts. (Molitor) is our manager as long as we mutually want each other to be. I feel that way about Paul, I feel that way about (general manager) Terry (Ryan).
  15. I guess I'm just nitpicking. Dozier will be 29 in a month though and has been a 3 year starter. If we're talking about the "future" I think its fair to count Escobar in with the younger guys who may be around for awhile (I think Polanco takes over for Dozier or even Plouffe, and Gordon is 2-3 years away)
  16. I couldn't agree with this more. It might be the only single move that would cause me to abandon the Twins. As for Molitor... I swear I read something last week that Pohlad said he has the same lifetime contract as Terry Ryan... I'm not making that up, he said it
  17. Eduardo Escobar just turned 27
  18. Same goes for Arcia
  19. Offering Fien arbitration was crazy. Cutting him is just cutting your losses early.
  20. 7th inning down 2 with a right handed pitcher on the mound and Suzuki at the plate... I mean if that's not a spot for Arcia I really don't know what is. Did Molitor get asked this postgame at all?
  21. I'd also leak something to Reusse about how Perkins doesn't take care of his physical condition and that's why he breaks down every 2nd half, and is throwing 91 now. Hey, it worked well for Sano, right??
  22. My changes (assuming I can't trade anyone) - Arcia or Kepler would be in the lineup vs righties instead of Park - I would pinch hit for Suzuki in late innings, I'm really unclear why Molitor has no issues replacing Sano on the basepaths or in the field, but lets Suzuki hit in key spots. - When not replacing Park, Kepler would also play LF and Rosario would sit (not every day, but many) - Danny Santana would spend the maximum amount of time in Rochester on his rehab assignment, because my manager can not help himself putting his terrible bat in the lineup. - I'd be fine cutting Fien as others said, or else he's only pitching mop-up duty Wednesday lineup (vs Rodon) 1) Dozier 2) Escobar 3) Mauer 4) Sano 5) Plouffe 6) Park 7) Kepler (LF) 8) Murphy 9) Buxton Thursday Lineup (Latos) 1) Dozier 2) Mauer 3) Sano (RF or DH) 4) Arcia (DH) or Kepler (RF) 5) Plouffe 6) Escobar 7) Rosario 8) Suzuki 9) Buxton One other note, I know he's looked practically as bad as anyone, but I'm not real far from just putting Buxton at leadoff and letting the lineup fall into place from there. I mean 0-7 can't get any worse, and I don't buy the extra "pressure" of hitting 1.
  23. *Raises Hand I do like Rosario more than Santana, am not ready to give up on him... but I think very good 4th outfielder is his most likely spot.
  24. Or to have Sano sit the 5th game of the season.... because as the beat reporter (LENIII) said "he's not hitting"
  25. Molitor being a Hall of Fame player has no correlation with his ability to manage.
