  1. You JUST know something bad is going to happen.........
  2. The real joy of watching games now, is that if they lose, blow a big lead, whatever,is that I can sleep much easier when this happens, since my belief is that these games add experience for when a real pennant race happens! Agree 100% Doc!
  3. Terrific highlight on Poppen, Seth! Most people miss that point!
  4. Mejia, May, and/or Busenitz would be an insult to the Marlins. We are never going to be able to make a trade with second or third tier players included. Like Doc said, the trade is going to hurt if it’s going to work. The position the Twins are in right now, IMHO no one is off limits!
  5. I hate it when a thread likes this comes out, because everyone, including me, would really love to get Realmuto! Don’t think the Twins will do it- it just isn’t in the team’s DNA. But IF they DID, it would be a sea change for this organization. Here’s what I would do. I’d first meet with Realmuto to see if he’d sign a 3 year extension for $60 million. Think I’m crazy? The Twins paid Mauer $24million/year for 8(?) years. If he agreed, we’d have him locked up for 5 years. I don’t know anything about him personally, but he could be the face of the franchise! I’d include Lewis if I had to. Something like: Lewis Gonsalves +another Top 20 prospect I said in an earlier post that I’d do Sano for Realmuto even up. Doubt the Marlins would do that, though. But I agree with Nick- someone is going to make this deal- might as well be us!
  6. Helleva scouting report! Well done! Thanks for reporting!
  7. Wish you could chop that homer into 4 singles and use them during the losing streak!
  8. I had been critical of the FO when they signed Rodney, but I’ll admit, I was wrong. They obviously felt they had no one in the system capable of closing games, and apparently that’s what Molitor thinks too. That’s 50 pitches for Rodney in the last 3 games. Playing with fire, IMHO!
  9. Bet Molly wished he had used someone else yesterday in a non-save situation. Oh, yeah, I forgot. We only have a 3 man bullpen: Pressly, Hildy, and Rodney! If Rodney fails here, it’s not on him. Major leaguers or not, you can only use these relievers so much.
  10. Nice clutch hit for Wilson! Happy for him! Not happy he is still with the Twins, though.....
  11. Looks like when Mollie came out of the dugout this morning, he saw his shadow, which means Wilson will be the starter for the next 6 weeks.......
  12. Why is Rodney pitching? Probably won’t be available tomorrow, if needed!
  13. Seriously, we are so lucky. How often are we going use Presley? He got us out of that pickle(thanks to that bonehead running play), but all those pitches in the bullpen last night add up. Baltimore runner tries to score down 4 runs in the 7th inning? This is the majors, right?
  14. Better get that .114 guy in for Garver........
  15. Ok- besides the nice offensive production, I’ve been watching the defensively “inept” Garver tonight. Seems like he has handles pitches in the dirt well, attempts to frame pitches out of the strike zone, and appears to be handling Lynn well so far. He has also been on base twice. I’d appreciate objective critiques from now on, so I can see why he sucks so bad........
  16. I agree-terrific article. Here are the things I would consider. First, implement terry1947’s option #5. Immediately, as suggested. Wilson will have my eternal admiration for how he handled that heat situation in Chicago. But, really, 9 for 79? .114 average? As a major league player? If Garver is so terrible behind the plate, tell him how he needs to improve and PLAY him! How can he improve if he sits and watches? What’s the worse that can happen? More losses?? That’s hilarious! The season is gone- we needed some answers for 2019 and beyond. I might understand if our pitching staff was comprised entirely of rookies, but that is hardly the case. I’d pitch Gonsalves for the same reasons. He has been mostly good at Rochester, but has had a few stinkers. He also has seen Slegers, Romero, Littel, and Mejia called up ahead of him. Personality or performance problems with him? I think it is unfair to bring him up in September and give him 4 starts and base those stats on whether he is a factor in 2019. I think you can tell a lot about a player when he fails........(if that happens). Finally, please.......let’s not look for scenarios when the Twins trade for Realmuto or anyone else! When is the last time the Twins made a deal like that for a good/great player in their prime? (Answer-never)Plus, right now, Minnesota is not a destination town for any stars.
  17. I’d love for Molitor to think outside the box just ONCE, and try a different lineup. How does this sound: Polanco-SS Kepler-RF Mauer-1B Rosario-LF Escobar-3B Morrison-1B Cave-CF Garver-C Dozier-2B
  18. The best part of Cave’s terrific evening, is that hopefully we will not be seeing Grossman as often!
  19. What is Molitor’s infatuation with Reed? Slegar’s pitches his butt off, and now Reed. (Throwing up in my mouth)
